I found this incubator by chance after reading the reviews. Im so grateful I did. My old Janoel 12 made me neurotic with constant temp changes for no known reason. The day i was testing my maticoopx30 was the same day the used Janoel jumped to 106 degrees. I caught it early and moved the girls to the maticoop. It was like going from a kia to a tesla. My anxiety resolved and we hatched 7:9. Tye two duds probably died due to the temp spike. To resolve the “no dividers in egg tray” I used the tops of prescription bottles. You may also line the divider with shelf liner. Temp is correct. I tested it against two expensive hygrometers. Biggest variation was 0.5 degrees and can be accounted for the hygrometer laying on the floor of the incubator. If i had suggestions for improvements would be to add a seal around the lid. It sort of slides and can hit a chick. Id also add a handle to the lid. Its awkward to lift with chicks jumping at you. I did not have an issue with water level or cleaning.

I've been through that with the old styrofoam incubators. I had one kill an entire batch of peacock eggs once. I agree with you on the suggestions. Those are good. I've got a new batch of eggs in right now. I candled 23 last night and all 23 were moving and look great. It is a fantastic incubator!

Awesome! I just finished up my second batch of 24. I removed one the first week that was infertile, but out of 23, 23 hatched today! It is an awesome incubator. I'm about to start some in a NurtureRigth360 and a ManaPro to see how they compare.

The egg trays are great without dividers. I just loaded them with duck eggs and only five fit in each one. If there were dividers set up for chicken eggs there would be six slots and worthless to me. I load them point down and lean them all toward one end. When candling I start with the last one in a tray, replacing it in the same spot but leaning against the other end, leaning the others against it as I go. Temp is dead stable, checked against another calibrated thermometer, but half a degree high. The only other thing is I cover the whole thing with a towel, except the humidity vent, since the clear plastic is not a great insulator. The heater doesn't work as hard and it is cheap protection against a short term power loss. Update: Three hours after writing this, near tornado winds knocked out power to the area. I have a backup generator that took about an hour to get running (I have to go out to start it manually and weather was nasty) and the incubator temp dropped about three degrees. Once power was connected it recovered in five minutes.

Yeah, its a great incubator. As far as the dividers are concerned, there could simply be plastic inserts that could be placed where needed depending on eggs size. (Like a lot of tackle boxes have. Here's an example: amzn.to/4aAxP1V) But it doesn't, so I do the same thing you are doing and just lean the eggs.

Just bought one and will fire it up on Sunday. Excited about giving it a try. I already have the Nurture Right 360 and liked that this one actually holds more eggs for less money. We'll soon see how they compare side by side! Thanks for the review. Good job 👍🏼

I bought a 6 pack of temp and humidity testers. 4 out of the 6 read the same room temp. So I only used the 4. And this incubator read 101.1 in every place I placed them. The temp on the screen read 99.5. 99-102 is the perfect temp to hatch eggs. So far I've very pleased. I'm setting my eggs in today. Wish me luck for day 21!!🤞

I started with 24 eggs, 9 eggs weren't fertilized and never started developing. So I had 15 healthy developing embryos on lock down day. Half way through day 19 I had 4 eggs pipping. By day 20 I had 8 chicks hatched, healthy and running around. Today is day 22 and I only have 2 eggs that are late hatchers. 1 just hatched and I'm patiently waiting for the last egg to hatch. I had 1 baby that pipped through its yoke and didn't make it. So 13 healthy babies running around and 1 egg still rocking lol I've very happy with this incubator. Easy to use, minimal maintenance during use, and hopefully it cleans easy. I'll be starting another batch of eggs as soon as it's clean and ready to go again😁

Hi. Thanks for reaching out. There seems to be a wide range of debate on the humidity. Personally, I try to hit between 75 and 80, maybe slightly into the low 80's. It has worked well for me.

I bought this incubator and I am a newbie with this process not with chicks. I am a teacher and this is our science project. What I need to know is how often did you have to put water in the machine. We are going on spring break and I need to know if I need to do this process at home or can I leave it at school running? I have a feeling I am hatching these guys at home and videoing it. However I would still like to know?
@growinggreenways5623
@growinggreenways5623 Жыл бұрын
Ours has needed to be refilled every other day like clock work. The hatching process is very predictable. The chicks will pip the eggs on day 20 and finish hatching on day 21, so if you know those days are going to fall on a day while school is out for spring break, I am afraid you will be mother hen... Leaving them that long without water could cause issues. However, I have heard of some people dry hatching. You may want to research it and see how experimental you want this project to be. I have never tried that method, but I can say I have personally had better success when I have been more controlled with my humidity than when I have left it under checked. That said, it could be affected by the natural environment you are hatching in.
@tangiesvedberg1911
@tangiesvedberg1911 Жыл бұрын
@@growinggreenways5623 thank you. I think I am going to video it and upload it to you tube. This way we can watch it on our smart board. They will still get to see the process. How long did it take your machine to reach full humidity? I turned it on and left it running as I left today. It had still only reached 36% after an hour. I hope there is nothing wrong with it. I want to order eggs just once and hatch them.
@growinggreenways5623
@growinggreenways5623 Жыл бұрын
@Tangie Svedberg - After an hour, I think it should have been settled in, but there are several factors to whether it should have been more than 36%. #1 You need to make sure well 1 has plenty of water. 1/2 cup should fill it. #2 Make sure the little window in the front is closed about halfway. #3 Make sure the lid is on correctly. (It has little slots that fit onto pegs on the base) If the lid didn't get seated, your humidity might be escaping.

I like mine but humidity to high. No way to raise it should have a separate control for that
@growinggreenways5623
@growinggreenways5623 Ай бұрын
The humidity is adjusted by using the little half circle window the front and the water trays in the bottom. I keep my window open about half way most of the time and you only put water in try one for the first 18 days. After that use tray two to raise humidity. If I need more humidity, I close the window more, and if I want lower humidity, I open it more. If you are doing this and still have high humidity, you may be in a humid environment that doesn't require adding water, or it could just be that your humidity sensor is off. Also, if you add hot water, it creates more humidity when you put it in and sometimes even condensation on the lid, which can get on your humidity sensor. I always recommend room temp water. Just a couple of guesses, since I don't know your situation. Hope something in there is helpful.
