that's how Lea sang when she was very young.... and even then, there was something with Lea that made her different, even among her "batch mates" in the 80s... listen to how they sound when they enunciate the words of the song.... its similar enough that you know it was Lea who mentored Esang... and from among the current crop of young singers, only esang sings like that.
