I'll never understand why people complain about any the musical change/evolution of any artist or band. If you like the old stuff, then listen to that. Some people might like the new stuff, and they can listen to that. Some people might like all of it and appreciate different phases of the artist's career, and they can listen to all of it. Problem solved. Don't expect someone to not change for you.

I’ve seen him live 5-6 times and he always delivers an incredible show. One thing I love is he’ll play “indestructible” or “Lord raise me up”, and they’ll always be mashed up and played a little differently each time you see him live. He does it with Jerusalem too. Matisyahu, He is a very unique, complex guy..because, even though he has not just physically changed his image without fear of being judged by his fellow orthodox Jews. .but I am assuming that he felt people would embrace him.. His music and open their hearts to what his music strived for.. To inspire peace love and joy in hearts that were fertile ground.

Saw Matisyahu at the Orange Peel in Asheville. I felt lead to go up there. I couldn't afford a ticket...but the door was opened people still were going in. I asked one of the guys if he could leave the door open so I could listen. I felt the music in my feet... couldn't stop dancing. Great Joy! My feet couldn't stop ...one of guys at the door told me he was going to try to get me in to see the show. He came back and said; " Come in and enjoy the show!" Wow! I felt so blessed. Danced the whole show. After it was over I got to personally meet and talk to Matisyahu. I felt so blessed...words can't say!

Allen, could not agree with you more. I've been a huge Matis fan since 08', he has simply lost his fire. His first albums, were mind blowing, raw and massively inspirational. His shaving off is beard is a factor, he lost burning faith and with that he lost his vibe. Imagine Marley shaving off his dreads, unthinkable!
