Thank you very much for the comment, I had really enjoyed it when visiting when I was younger and I was a little worried that if it didn’t live up to that it would spoil the memory. We were on a DA at the heritage Peak Line at Rowsley for the weekend and cycled to Matlock and Matlock Bath, years since we've been and didn't remember Matlock Bath being so commercialised. Saw the signs for the Illuminations and wondered what it was all about and now I know. Looks like you had a great time even if you did have to walk back. Cheers K.

Hi Karlos- I was shocked too. I couldn’t understand why there were so many fish n chip & ice cream shops when not at the seaside. But I embraced it and tucked in anyway! 😂 Good place for a DA mind! It’s a great event - well worth visiting - good old fashioned family entertainment- can’t beat it! Walking back worked off the fish n chips 🍟 😂 Rachel & David

Not been to the illuminations. Dinner looked good. Roxy just adores the water❤. Looks like a lot of effort went into the display. Clearly very popular. Is it just for one night? Lovely evening. 😊👍

Roxy is a tinker with water & quite clearly didn’t read the danger signs 😂😂 it’s on every Sat & Sun in October. I loved it - proper good old fashioned family fun! I really enjoyed it! Rachel & David x

We stayed at The King William in Matlock (campsite behind, it’s in the Matlock and Heights of Abraham video before this one for ref) and the dog swam in the river before the illuminations started in Matlock Bath. Hope that helps, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
