Ah, Matlock. One of my favourite areas in the country! Saying that, it's a few years since I went up the Heights of Abraham. I'm sure it wasn't anywhere near that expensive when I did it! Many thanks, 👍🏾

Good location. Good food too by the looks of it. Like church bells. Matlock looks lovely. Cable car looked good fun. Great park at the top. Hello Steve! Nice tour. Some good walks up there too. Good new re dogs ( must have read our mind 🤣🐶🐶🐶) lovely place to visit. Think you were paying a bit extra for location. It was a good place to park 😊👍❤️x

The church bells were so soothing! Steve did a good tour although note only David went - I’m not 100% sure of cable cars or caves 😂 I do still think it was expensive but really handy for what we were doing Rachel & David

Nice trip again and always good to see things/revisit places you say as a child. The cave tour looked brilliant, shame it was windy and thr CC stopped running but at least it was down hill. Lovely scenery in the peaks to. Stop over looked good but a touch on the expensive side especially the electricity especially as we know from a recent trip less than a £1 used over 2 days 😉. Look forward to seeing the next one

Hi Tim, thanks for the comment - it’s lovely revisiting things and nothing has spoiled yet. Was pleased it was downhill 😀 Yes the electric was expensive - Rachel added it when she checked us in, I wouldn’t have bothered as would pay a max of £5 at this time of year. Handy location but a little more than we would normally pay for that type of stopover. Really enjoyed it though. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Hi David and Rachel a lovely video as usual! You have whetted my appetite to go back to Matlock I haven’t been for over twenty years and my sons would love the illuminations and the cable car so maybe in the spring or summer as it’s about a couple of hours from us It’s always been like a bit of a seaside resort in the same way stourport is for us as you know. I would love to go back into the tram museum and I would be interested in the mine tour as my background is in geology Looks like you all had a fabulous time and nice to see lots of dog friendly places for Roxy If you go back to derbys again dovedale is lovely and Bakewell and eyam the plague village it’s a pretty county and overlooked somewhat my brother used to live not far away in Leics so used to spend lots of day trips around there all the best to you both Daniel

It was fabulous to go back - I went to Eyam when the Well dressings were on years ago and can still remember it - will have to try a return visit next year when that’s on and finish off the bits we didn’t do this time and your suggestions. Yes it’s not cheap is it - it does include all the other stuff too like the cave tour. I was pleased it was just me as it would have got pricy for a family - you would need to be there when it opened to get best value and stay for the day. All the best, David & Rachel 👍

Matlock Bath is a lovely place to visit. We’ve never stayed over so this site might be good for us. Can you just pay for two adults no electric? Take care Gill

It’s lovely isn’t it - thanks for the comment. Yes you can pay for 2 adults, electric is optional - I wouldn’t have bothered at £7.50 with the electric but Rachel had popped in to sort it and added it on. All the best, David & Rachel ❤️

£10 a night each isn't too bad, although I'm paying £15 a night with EH for the NEC next week. Would be good if the pub gave you some discount for eating but £7.50 for leccy is a bit much. I'm interested that you spent all that time and money on Lithium but still pay for electric. with some solar we happily did a week without electric a couple of weeks ago although no heating on. So did Rachel have a quiet afternoon while David was out playing. Have a good week. Cheers K.

Thanks for the comment - great question! - Rachel checked us in and opted for the leccy as she wasn’t sure - I wouldn’t have paid £7.50 certainly not at this time of the year for electric. We have the choice with the lithium setup - what it doesn’t do is run the heating or hot water - that relies on burning fossil fuels if not on electric (appreciate LPG isn’t as bad as diesel by a long shot but it’s all still very crude) - also find the heat gentler on electric. But as I say, £7.50 is steep so I wouldn’t have paid that but it was paid so we used it. Yes she had a quiet afternoon with Roxy then we went to the illuminations on the evening (next weeks video so this one wasn’t too long) 😄

You used to be able to stop in the railway station carpark overnight fo £1 and use the toilets. Same as Monsal Head. However since both places were invadedby mass travellers they have stopped it. Its a real shame. Ps Wetherspoons is closed. 😢 George and Jane

Expensive for a pub! That’s a no from us, yes they should charge because it’s annoying when people rock up and don’t eat but a refund on the meal is the best thing. We’ve been to Matlock a few times this year and no way we’re we going on the cable cars at that money!

Yes it was a tad expensive but we were down south from us where everything seemed to be more - we went up so you don’t have to - you know what’s up there now 😀 I was pleased on two counts - one I got a discount and two there was just me who went up. Lovely area - all be it touristy so expensive. We enjoyed the next one at the illuminations and that was £6.50 each so much more reasonable. I was on my holidays though 🙌 Appreciate the comment, hope you’re both good - All the best, David & Rachel 👍
