Matlock's Hidden Miniature Railway for Over 70 years

Family use to come here usually on a Thursday in the summer holidays. A trip round on the boats which as a kid thought it was deep. One day another boat got stuck and the man got in the water. It came just above his knees. Not only the train runs on the track, sometimes the river. The water levels are on the bridge over the river mid park. After tea we then go to' Rowsley yard by the A6 to see the Blue Pullman pass to Manchester about 06:30 pm and watch a bit of fly shunting. Chuff, chuff, Bang. bang. bang squeal and a truck fly's off the end of the train.

@@ThomasEdward Was a full size railyard and engine facility for trains into and over the Peak district. Most train lengths where limited by brake van capacity on the hills so trains where re assembled shorter. or power added up to Dove Holes.
