Andy Griffith claims two of the most iconic shows and themes in history. God bless this man. I used to love watching Matclock as a kid. Probably in part because he was a defence attorney, and not a prosecutor; he had to get his clients off. And that theme, how do you not love that theme? And to top it all off, Andy's warm and gracious screen presence

Andy is one of the handful of stars to have done this! To star in two classic tv shows with one generation knowing him more from Andy Griffith Show and another for Matlock. The only other ones I can think of that have done this is Sherman Hemsley(The Jeffersons and Amen) Michael J. Fox(Family Ties and Spin City) Carroll O'Connor (All in the family and In The Heat of The Night) and James Garner (Maverick and Rockford Files)

It's so weird, I haven't seen this show in years and I still remember it in like extreme detail since it was basically always on. Local police attempted to pin the crime on property owner over several differing charges that had zero evidence. Going through that process has actually given me a new disdain for police and prosecuting attorneys, watching them lie under oath, then being called out on it. Unanimous vote for acquittal. Myself and 5 other jurors, including the person that we made the jury foreman talked to the judge about bringing forth perjury charges against the 3 officers called to the stand. Thought of the theme song to this whilst leaving courthouse to go eat a greasy hamburger, and contemplate the "evidence" that state tried to bring fourth by that point of the day. Trial started at 8 am, was finalized at roughly 4pm.

Matlock is so damn interesting and so fun to watch. I loved watching it with my mom when I was a little girl and we still do today. My favorite episode is "The Sisters", those pretty girls were very scary!! Classic TV shows and cartoons make me happy because they bring back sweet memories of being a little girl! :)

My god this show brings back memories, I'm 49 and when this was on this was one of the shows me and my grandmother would sit down and watch together. A time before DVR's, now families record a show and just watch it on their own time...back in these days families actually sat down and watched TV together (yes we had VCR's but it was pointless to set up a tape to record when you were gonna be home to watch it, and my grandmother didn't even know how to work a VCR) This is one of the memories I had with my grandmother, watching TV together...I miss that.

Love this theme song! Andy Griffith is such an icon. I never get tired of Matlock or The Andy Griffith Show. There are so many great ones I wish I could meet just once and shake their hands and tell them what a great influence they had on our generation. Matlock came out when my boys were very small. We would walk next door to my parents house and watch it with them. I remember one night stopping outside their house and seeing them sitting in their den, and thinking that someday I was going to miss that. Pretty much all the wb programming and ion television programming too. I miss those days sometimes. Sitting there with my mom, being a little kid. Now she has a ton of health issues, seeing these shows takes me back to a time where it was easier and not having to see her go through this.
