No blunders, no mistakes, just an epic battle between two giants :D It saddens me to know that I probably don't understand this game half as well as it deserves, even with Mato's analysis. Still enjoyable to watch though.

Mato ... didn't say Hi! this is mato... ... after 1691 lectures, 5 years of waiting... Mato... surprised his fans with.. (i didn't understand what he said)... what do you think of this move? did you like it? and that is all...

This is one of my favorite gamea you've covered--when most elite-level games end in draws, it's tempting to only cover the exceptions. But sometimes those draws reveal great lessons of their own. Thank you!

I can't believe how much watching a reenactment of a chess game from 1922 just put me on the edge of my seat. Every time I thought one of the two players was done, they seemed to pull a brilliant move out of thin air.

10:04 if white pawns go ahead(on the left)could be queen.can someone explain it please?why game over by draw?
@miked25437 жыл бұрын
emrah özdemir I'm wondering the exact same thing. This looks like a win for white to me rather than a stalemate as black has no legal moves, but white has many; ultimately leading to promotion.
@josefmalar78377 жыл бұрын
every move with a2 pawn means this.... a2-a3 leads to bxa3, a2-a4 leads to bxa3 enpassant, a if not enpassant, black plays b3 a will have queen much quicker than white and wins the game.
@escapeescape54776 жыл бұрын
@@josefmalar7837 but what if white goes after the b pawn? If black captures the h pawn first then black has no time to capture the a pawn and if black decides to defend his b pawn then he has no time to capture the h pawn
@MoonBurn135 жыл бұрын
It’s the calculating the R+P and Pawn endgames that really impress me. Especially given that Alekhine had an aversion to “dull chess”.

What's wrong with Qg4 threatening checkmate after black plays c4 trapping the bishop? (minute 4:20) Black's probably going to play g6 but then white can play Qg5 protecting c5 square and going for Qh6 and then checkmate on g7

I am a big fan of Alekhine and I have watched many of your videos. Great Job! Is there a game record of the 30 game BLIND simultaneous that Alekhine played. I don´t remember exactly the results, but I know he won more than 20 and there were some draws! Might be interesting for you to do a video about that! Thanks again for your contributions to chess.

At 1:03 , after knight takes on e5 , bishop takes on f2 check & you can recapture the knight on e5 after .One of the piece is lost anyway , so better put white king into trouble ...

At 7:48 Alekhine is two pawns up. I do not know how such a renowned grandmaster as him would then wind up with just a draw.

Hi Mato, you are the best chess commentator ever. Can you do more Garry kasparov games please? And how about some very interesting historical chess games in the 19th century like Louis-Charles Mahé de La Bourdonnais's games? As you know La Bourdonnais was the best and the number 1 chess player in the World for many many years, but sadly not many people knows him.
@vanillafire758 жыл бұрын
I thought paul morphy was the best during that era.. well I dont what an argument about this but its just my opinion
@ramuk11278 жыл бұрын
Probably because of his name.
@bazarovthenihilist96308 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right, Paul Morphy was a very strong chess master, he was the best at his time. But La Bourdonnais and Morphy where not exactly in the same era. La Bourdonnais dominated the chess World from 1820 to 1840. La Bourdonnais died in 1840 the time when Morphy was just 3 years old.
@GlorifiedTruth8 жыл бұрын
I think La Bourdonnais' peak playing years were a bit before Morphy's time. So there was a time before Morphy when he could claim to be the best.
