I used to work in Burwood East which is just up the road from the Maton factory in Box Hil. Some of the Luthiers used to come in to buy fuel and we'd talk guitars. Very nice instruments. Extremely well built. I've played a few but never owned any. Going to have to remedy that soon.

Maton are GREAT GUITARS: They are incredibly well made ,sound and play Great up and Down the whole neck , very well intonated all round, and the pick up system in them is GREAT.. I use mine live through the PA for gigs and it’s a Big Sounding Acoustic Guitar , I Love it , Fine we’ll made Guitar’s..that sound great Unplugged and just as great plugged IN 🌞⭐️🌞⭐️🌞⭐️🌞👍🏻❤️👍🏻.. GREAT PLAYING AS ALWAYS PETE , But then you could make an old broom stick with one string on it sound Great 🤣😆👍🏻🌞⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️

I just ordered one for that reason…. I’m used to jumbo stainless frets on my electric, and this is one of the few acoustics that has them. …not to mention it has one of the best pickup systems in the industry!!!

Impressive for what looks like a smaller body, and I like the tone - has enough clarity and bottom is on the edge of getting the boomy lows [I love my cheapo old boomy Yamaha FG335IIBK]. This sounded more like Taylor than Martin [I am not a fan of Martins]]. Excellent stuff Pete!

Are the back snd sides laminated? thats my preliminary concern. And then the scale and neck carve are deal breakers too. But maton make wiked guitars ...as we all know. Hmm.. definately interested. Petes reviews always rock.....liked!

Back and Sides are Tasmanian Myrtle (pete says that around 3:40). Top is Stika Spruce. The JR Maton is a really nice model - I prefer the Tomy Emmanuel model, but this one is real nice.
