Here’s an example Speaker 1: Usain Bolt is slow. Speaker 2: I mean, he’s fast. Versus Speaker 1: Usain Bolt is cool. Speaker 2: he’s fast, too. One is disagreeing/correcting, one isn’t. Adding to the full episode this is from. It goes deeper than that. These parties weren't house party shindigs. They were business affairs and she's CEO. What Mat's getting at here which so many comment threads are missing is she was being ignored as a business consultant. Business consultancy was their main financial turn over. The channels were half engagement, half advertising their knowledge. Anthony even mentions working with Mat as a consultant for Smosh. In some ways on a practical level, she's Mat's boss. In others she's equal share co-owner. Being his wife economic reality wise should have little to do with it.

That Pat is such a standup guy. I feel exactly the same way when it comes to my wife in conversations in general. I dont think its about her being a woman. But i will not deny that there may be a small minority that ignores her because she's a woman. I think it more has to do with the fact that matts literally the voice and face of the theory chammels that he manages/hosts. The only way you'd get to know stephanie is thru gtlive (until she stopped regularly joining the streams) or the theory here she joins in to discuss. Its too far few for people to know who she is. What matpat says here is more the result of stephanie not being represented enough in the channel for people to recognize her. If she was the host of game theory and the other channels instead, i have no doubt matt would be going through the same thing
