People really don't give the actors in this movie enough credit, considering there was NO script ( only scenarios the directors instructed, leaving those three to completely make up their dialogue, which made this the most "real-feeling" movie of any of these Found Footage Films)

This was something done in the first Paranormal Activity as well. The director gave the actors an outline of the scene and they went from there. I think in particular with found footage movies that really is the way to go as the entire point is that this is just supposed to be us watching old videos of these people. Having them have an actual conversation rather than reciting memorized lines just makes the whole scene feel a lot more natural.

So fun fact about Mike being weird in the house: when Mike and Heather got their final note from the producers for what to do in the final scene, Mike's note read something like "when you hear the noise, run all the way up leading Heather, then run all the way down leaving her behind". Mike was confused since at that point they had just been in the woods and even used the walkie-talkie meant to be used to ask the producers for clarification (which apparently at that point none of the three had used) and was brushed off and told he'd know when he got to it. Mike's actually said his most in the moment line was "oh shit, it's a house" when seeing the house for the first time because in that moment he figured out what his note meant. That's why he's weirdly familiar with the floor plan and announcing his location at the end.

I never heard of it until that point but he said it was real footage. He fell asleep maybe halfway through and I watched it until the end. The ending fucked me up. Once it was over, I was afraid to get out of the bed to just turn off the VHS player. I kept nudging my friend to get him to wake up so I'd feel a bit safer lol. I was so fucking scared lol. I didnt sleep all night in complete dark silence and kept staring at his bedroom door because I was afraid that something would come in and go after me. At the time, I thought the movie was all real. I fell in love with the Kill Counts initially so its only now that im working my way through the podcasts and interviews. You guys do such an amazing job with the whole show. Honestly my favourite channel by a long stretch.

My future wife and I saw Blair Witch when it was a pre-screened in Philadelphia in 1999. At no time did we think it was a “real” movie, but we loved it so much, we saw it a week later when it hit general release. Years later, I interviewed the cast, and told them how much we loved the movie and how it was nominated one of the scariest movies of all time in the newspaper we worked at then. Still one of my favorite movies.

To this day it is still the only horror film to genuinely frighten me. I was 17 and seen it opening weekend at a packed theater of other rowdy stoners like me, but by the ending the place was dead silent. We left the theater terrified and I thought about the film nonstop for days. I seen it 2 more times in theaters. I am also one of few that LOVED Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows.
@loki14562 жыл бұрын
I was 11 and my father decided he wanted to see it when he was supposed to be taking me to something my mother considered "age appropriate". So he took me to see it and he gave me 50 dollars not to tell her what we had seen. It was the first horror film I had even seen in theaters and I started having nightmares. To this day, I do not know what my father was thinking. Like ??? 🤔
