I'm so excited to finally get to share this arrangement with all of you! Musicnotes sponsored this in late 2021 and they got exclusive access to the video for a while, but now I can officially share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy the new pianist flair I've added to this music. Grab the sheet music here: www.musicnotes.com/l/CrzMX

Sorry, I know that I have already commented on this video. When I listen to this song, I expect Ms. Angela Lansbury to start singing. She sang this song during a performance with the Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City Utah as a part of the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It is worth a listen. We will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.

I enjoyed the to and fro between the upper octaves with your right hand, as well as the swells in tempo. Very relaxing and tasteful. Also love the chords, especially those 7th's :). Not to mention towards the end you play the melody and the supporting runs with your right hand so effortlessly, a subtlety that one could almost not notice them, yet adds so much to the piece. Fantastic work again as always, and glad you finally got to share this!!
@CharlesSzczepanek2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Imago! I appreciate your attention to the detail of the playing! I wonder, and actually talk regularly with a handful of my friends, questioning how many listeners (both online and in-person) actually hear the fine details that are what take the most time in practice and are the most musical! It's a breath of fresh air to hear these kinds of comments from you!
@ImagoPiano2 жыл бұрын
@@CharlesSzczepanek if I had to guess, many listeners (understandably) won't probably pick up on all the nuances; as a musician myself I always appreciate it when someone points out such details; I'm sure there will be subtleties I will still overlook in your playing, but thought I'd encourage you with what I did hear :).

Your electric piano sounds amazing. It would be interesting to do a test with your KZbin subscribers. Sounds never sound the same of those played live and those heard over a media platform. You should do a video where you play the same arrangement on your regular piano and then your electric piano. When playing the song show something else as the video portion. See if your subscribers could tell the difference by commenting, which was which. Beautiful song, one of my favorite.

That's a super cool idea! I could make it even trickier than that... what if I show me at the keyboard playing, but it's my acoustic... and vice versa show the acoustic, but it's my keyboard ;-)

To je jasné víc nežli slunce zář.On: oh-oh Tenhle příběh náš On: starší je než tón, Oba: hořkosladký sen. Ona: Projdou spoustou změn Oba: ona jako on.On: oh-oh Ona: Jak ta slunce zář znovu přijde hřát, Oba: tak se jisté zdá, že ho ráda má a on má ji rád. On: Jak ta slunce zář, Ona: jak ta slunce zář On: znovu přijde hřát, Ona: tak se jisté zdá, Oba: že ho ráda má a on ji má rád. What an incredibly beautiful arrangement, truly heart-melting!!! How do you make your digital piano sound so good? What plugins and libraries did you use in this recording? I have not heard a better sounding digital piano ever.
@CharlesSzczepanek Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Michal! In this recording I'm using the Garritan Abbey Road CFX library, one of my absolute favorites. I then do a bit of EQ with FabFilter's ProQ 3, compression with a Manley Vari-Mu hardware compressor, an extra touch of reverb with Altiverb, and lastly little bit of master limiting with FabFilter's L2. If the piece is very dynamic, I'll also do some volume automation by hand so the compressor and limiter don't need to work so hard.
