It seems like any truly nice piece of opal would NEVER have a hole drilled into it "for a pendant". Am I incorrect? I am eager to learn. Thank you for this video.

Really interesting video thanks for uploading. I have a question, when you were grinding the stones in the initial stages the water would change a few different colours, I heard one of you say that this matrix was found in ironstone, so I guess that covers the rusty orange colour, but there were some darker reds too. Did that come off the opal? or is the water just generally that orange colour so it's hard to tell?

You have very adept fingers. Do you find biting your nails so short makes it difficult maneuvering tiny objects?

in Indonesia there that make artificial opal of resin with a very precise pattern ... but the tutorial into a secret ... what can possibly make opals of resin which closely resembles the original ...

What grit wheel are you using with that first pass?

It’s usually 280,600,1,200 then 3,000 grit.I’m sorry it took 6 years to get your answer 😂

I'll tell you what chaps and this goes for anyone who sells Opals, it's worth the price just to avoid using that saw. You can take my money.

Guys this saw wont cut his fingers, it's a diamond saw that isn't sharp at all. It's just grinding through the stone. This guy's thumbnails tho, make me sick to the stomach 😷

Any body who does work on a pottery wheel has that type of nail Its from working with abrasives not chewing. those are working hands yours probably resemble a few pounds of raw pork sausage
