Matrix calculations using the Casio fx991ES PLUS calculator

Demonstration of the use of the Casio fx-991ES PLUS calculator in matrix mode.
Using the equation mode for an augmented matrix solving a system of equations.
Using the matrix mode for creating matrices, multiplication, determinants and inverses.

Thanks very much for producing this video. It has it taught me to use the matrix functions on the Casio fx991ES. The video has enabled me to go beyond the scope of the FP1 topic on Matrices and I can now manually undertake the Det of a Matrix which is greater than a 2 x 2 matrix. I can now do the Det of a 3 x 3 Matrix manually also. The video has been useful as well in terms of my A Level Further Pure 1 paper that I have coming up in June 2014. Thanks ever so much for your time & trouble in making this video. It's been a great help. It's nice when we have people like yourself, who shares their sound knowledge of Maths and gives up their free time in doing so. Regards Vandomo

Dimension error means that the 2 matrices you used are not matched for multiplication. It will always work for square matrices of the same size, since the number of rows and columns are equal. If your matrices are not square matrices, make sure that they match for multiplication. The number of columns in the first matrix must be the same as the number of rows in the second matrix. If this is the case and you try to multiply them the other way round it won't work as you will get a dimension error

Is there a way I can calculate Eigenvalues on this calculator? I seem to remember being able to do it somehow with Eigenvalues appearing as X(subscript) 1= ? and by pressing another button, X (subscript) 2 =?...cannot for the life of me remember how to do it, I can find determinants but not Eigenvalues. If you mean an augmented matrix representing 2 equations in 3 variables, then this calculator can't do anything with it. The calculator does a lot of things, but it is still a cheap calculator.
