Basically, it is an FPGA, but a bit bigger, processing objects instead of bits.

The next step is to break up the concept of a cell as such. Robots could operate in different directions and different pairings. That would reduce the idle time of the robots and the factory floor-space needed.

Great fresh concept for the body in white production. But, what about the most expensive part "the paintshop" ? Installing many independent cells for PT, E-Coat, BC, CC, and their ovens/dryers, seal, wax, etc ? I wonder how expensive would be...

When a particular model is made with a group of robotic arms , the programmer will predetermine for each robotic arm a specific task in isolation from the tasks of other arms without any conflict with each other , witch ensures the complication of the process without any problem .

i can see this working for certain products. but for example making batteries like Tesla does in their gigafactory would be inefficient. Is the same argument between 3d printing or casting. But the future will be bespoke. We gonna have a custom car, custom house, custom pants and underpants.. custom girlfriend :)) custom everything. Custom as in unique to you and only you. Because will be dirt cheap to do it like that. Not this 1 million teslas which are all the same. And in such world this set of principles presented here makes sense.

This is pretty awesome. But sends chills down my spine, who’s going to buy this beautiful product that you’re making? Imagine 80%-90% of factories around the world go like this, who buys this product. Unemployment is going to be spread wide among developed countries. This is what humanity needs though, I’m just afraid of what it may bring if we don’t come up with an answer.
@rohlay004 жыл бұрын
I completely understand. I fear the same. But it is necessary for the advance of humankind. The jobs that will be eradicated are monotonous, repetitive boring jobs. Is it so bad if they cease to exist? Should humans be enslaved in these jobs? We need a change in how our whole economic system works. A revolution is being undertaken. There will be a crisis, maybe many, but in the long term it will benefit humanity for the greater. I believe the solution is in education.
@rustyshackleford28414 жыл бұрын
Rohan I agree with everything you said. It’s a must for humanity now.Those displaced automation need to be re educated to new jobs where they’ll earn more. Hope this is just not a utopian dream. We must start by making the re education affordable.

Hold up. If you are already utilizing AI for you robotic arms, why would you have humans design the manufacturing line. Instead of having a human design the process, such as "separating logistics from production" ans etc., AI should be used to make that decision. An AI could run through millions of simulations and tell you exactly where logistics should be placed.
