They didn't ruin. They want to reconstruct our memories. First destroy and then rebuild. Otherwise it will be too flat as the story continues. Now that the movie makers has all the feedbacks of the franchise, the writers will now have the challenge to reconstruct something unique for such a franchise is so structured and messy at the same time, right.

The first can be described as a one hit wonder. Which helped to build up the hype for the sequel, which in turned brought in massive box office takens. But left a fan base disenchanted. When the sequel was nothing but the same and did not answer any of their questions. Which lead to the third not even getting close to the second film. From having s fan base disenchanted and not wanting to see a film. They knew would not fix the problems that had appeared in the poor and unimaginative storytelling. Which should have lead there to being no forth folm. But executives at the company could not say no to the director's forth film. Even after films they had directed with their sibling had been box office failings. The executives had to say yes and greenlight the next film. These must be the only film executives not even interested in making a profit. Even an operational profit!
