Another demonstration of the Matrixbrute in split mode. More excerpts from Tangerine Dream Sequences: Phraedra, Rubycon, Ricochet, Stratosfear, Cloudburst Flight, Force Majeure, and Tangram. All sounds from Matrixbrute in real time. Additional reverb added. The purpose is to show how versatile split mode can be, assigning different oscillators to the sequencer and to the lead, and using real time controls to transform the sound of the lead and sequence.
Patches available as download from the Arturia Matrixbrute users group face book page (in the file section): / matrixbrute

Thank you. I also prefer these early TD releases, and also their Sorcerer soundtrack, which I also did a video of using the Matrixbrute. I also made a slide show of the entire Rubycon album, although it doesn't always play back smoothly on KZbin. I've also been a TD fan for 30+ years. I spent some time chatting with Chris Franke at the 2006 NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. The TD members apparently had a hand in synthesizer development. (Franke insisted that Roland put cross-modulation on their upcoming Jupiter 8 synth.) I appreciate TD much more after working on this project. Best tip I can give is to do what I did: Use a Riftmaster or similar device to record a few seconds of a TD sequence, then slow it down without shifting the pitch to learn and program the exact sequence. Finally emulate the sound used for the sequence and match the original speed on playback.

@@wedream2 Mini Moog is a classic. Due to this a lot of people (myself included) sometimes over revere Moog products. From what I have seen you display with the Matrix Brute it can almost do poly and it's sequencer seems very impressive too. The sounds are very usable in my opinion so it would be a very useful addition if time is taken to learn it properly. Although it's big it's smaller than a Moog One. If you have a re-issue Mini Moog as well then you are extremely lucky. I love the look and the feel of the Mini Moog. I have a Sub37 which covers me for the Moog sound with a darker tone but I will always find the Mini Moog inspirational.
@wedream2
@wedream2 5 жыл бұрын
I consider myself extremely lucky. About 15 years ago I purchased 2 Minimoogs and 2 Memorymoogs and made new exotic wood cabinets for all of them. (Pics on my facebook page). I installed a Linntronics midi upgrade in one of the Minimoogs. Both Memorymoogs had significant electronic problems so they sat unused in cases until last year. I finally found someone who could competently service the electronics. I'm going to be selling the Zebrawood set (Mini + Memory), and keep the Rosewood set for a while longer. (I made a few KZbin videos showcasing them). The Rosewood Memorymoog is currently being serviced, and once I get it back, I'll start sound design on it. (I've waited 15 years to do this!). I sold a Waldorf XTK and bought the Matrixbrute with the cash. If I didn't have the Minis I would have purchased a Sub37. Matrixbrute and Moog is a good combo.

I have a Matrixbrute. I bought it 2 years ago. I've experimented with it but haven't even broken the ice yet. I made some progress getting my guitar heard through the filters. That took some sime to do. In the beginning I could not do it as explained in the manual. Later on I found a video here in youtube on how to do it. After taking some time off from pursuing that task, I was able to figure out how I can make the MB sound like I'm using a Boss pedal.

Most of what I have done is in split mode. When I got my Behringer 2600 Blue Marvin I set up the MB to control the 2600 using all the controllers and routed the audio output of the 2600 into the MB, bringing it in as the 4th oscillator. Thanks for the compliment. I haven't tried adding a Moog Sub 37 or other synth as you suggested. I do have a set up now where the audio output of my Behringer 2600 is inserted into the audio input of the Matrixbrute, and the sound is then brought in as a 4th oscillator on the MB. Can you tell me - for Ricochet - is each key triggering a different sequence? The sequences sound a bit different between the keys you play at 4.36 an 4.47 - perhaps I'm wrong? But Ricochet does have different sequences triggered in real time at different moments - and you're doing it perfectly here. Just curious as yo what's actually going on - is it different sequences triggered by different keys, or is it just hte same sequence though and just sounding a bit different at different pitches?? Any insight appreciated. Truly fascinating!!

Hillo wedream2!. From "Arturia Midi Control Center", you can export it to a special file (it does automatically), with extension ".mbprojz"; This file can also be imported from "Arturia Midi Control Center".

How do I save my patches that are stored on my computer in the Arturia Midi Control Center into a file that can be shared?
@user-cq1zh6rd6d

Hello wedream2: Here are the steps to download the patches: 1. Matrixbrute must be connected with USB to the computer that has the "Arturia Midi Control Center" application. 2. In the right matrix, the 256 positions of the Matrixbrute presets are displayed. Above the matrix is the [Recall to Computer] button. 3. Pressing [Recall to Computer] generates a new project in the left matrix, called "DEVICE" and synthesizer presets are copied to the computer. 4. The copy lasts about 1 minute and at the bottom you can see the progress bar. 5. Above the left matrix, there is the [Export] button. If DEVICE is already selected, pressing it will open the window to save the file in the computer with the extension ".mbprojz". I hope it is well explained.

My email address is udream@roadrunner.com I'd like to be able to share a bank at a time since I haven't programmed all 256 patch locations.

Bravo, really, excellent work! Too bad it was done on an Arturia with Arturia sound... . Everything in the high mids, dry, borderline aggressive, almost sizzling, very far from the roundness of the synths originally used by TD. The same on synths in the Berlin school spirit and it will be absolutely brilliant.

I had to cut the volume prior to upload to avoid distortion. What you are hearing is KZbin fidelity, not the actual Matrixbrute. This is a major problem with demos.
