More than likely you have the view set at smooth instead of box mode. If you click on the cone shape on the far right, you can switch from box mode to smooth mode.

You can use Clayoo extract isocurve and flow your gems on that. All done inside Clayoo. You can also convert the Clayoo surface to a Nurbs surface and flow on that as well. Sometimes though you might want to use QuadRemesh and have the quads move with curves, so your surface directions are lined up. I will be doing more content on exactly this in the future, but I want to work through all the commands first. My apologies for taking so long to get there.
