I find it very disappointing and ironic that so many people are throwing so much hate at this episode when the reroot community is supposed to be loving and accepting. One of the many things that impresses me about both Eamon and Bec is how open, non-judgemental and accepting they are of all people. I’m confused about the members of the community who give lip service to inclusivity but lack the courage? Empathy? Curiosity? to listen to a respectful dialogue between diverse voices and perspectives. Perhaps having an understanding of and learning from others is how we could build both deeper understanding and healthier communities. Perhaps respect what Eamon and Bec are about instead of trying to flex? Bully? Cancel? via intolerant comments. If you don’t like something, just click on by my friends! It doesn’t need to become a festival of bashing. Who grows in that way? Who learns?

I rarely ever comment on videos, but I just want to say how impressed I am with this collab and the Reroot podcast in general. Bec and Eamon - you both are so attentive, empathetic, and intrinsically curious about your guests. I feel the authenticity through the screen and this is, by far, my favorite podcast out there as it never seems awkward or stilted/too formal. I'm a clinical psychologist for children and families and let me just say, Bec - you demonstrate so many positive qualities during interviews that are very consistent/similar to how therapists behave. You would be an incredible therapist. Overall, I just wanted to comment and say thank you both for being incredible humans and posting such quality content. Watching your channel is the way I rewind after a long day of therapy. Thank you for that. Love from Topeka, Kansas!

I don’t usually comment on videos but I really wanted to get this out there. I wasn’t going to watch this episode because I unfollowed Matt and Abby a few months ago and wasn’t interested in hearing what they had to say. I was influenced by the negativity surrounding them which changed my opinion of them. Well, I am so happy that I gave this episode a chance because I thoroughly enjoyed your conversation with them and now have so much respect for the hard work they put into their relationship with their families and each other. It’s so easy to hate someone you don’t know on the internet and it makes people (myself included) forget that everyone is human. No one is the perfect friend, parent, spouse, etc. and I’m sure if my life was shared online the way your and theirs is, I would be faced with the same criticism. Thank you for making this 💙

Oh I really enjoyed this episode. I didn’t know much about Abby and Matt, but it was really nice listening to you sharing about your similarities and different experiences. Also want to point out how nicely you navigated the Real Talk section and giving an option to choose how deep to get for Abby and Matt. Since you talked about the clipping of videos and being afraid of the amount of negative comments and such that can come with sharing your live and talking deep for people to consume, I think it’s a great thing to see that your guests have the choice of how deep they want to get and how every decision is very valid. I’m also glad to see someone on the pod that hasn’t been there. I absolutely love the guests that have been on your pod before ❤ but I also appreciate the step out of your own community (sorta) and having guests on that we (the Eamon and Bec community) probably don’t yet really know. A heartfelt thank you ❤ The power of thought and meditation. To my favourite couple online.. I have followed you and Eamon for many many years and wanted to share a personal story with how your sharing your journey affects so many people in such a positive way. I was listening to the lead up podcast to your Wednesday post on KZbin, the one where you and Eamon were being interviewed by The Unplanned Podcast. I wanted to hear that version before I listened to you interviewing them because I am invested in your life story and am one of your biggest fans. Backstory: Yesterday (on my birthday), after many many weeks of tooth pain, I made a decision to have major dental surgery done to resolve the ongoing issues. When I say I was terrified of going to the dentist, I mean capital T traumatized after years of a terrible dentist I had in Toronto growing up. After years of living in Kitchener, I finally found a dentist who was so wonderful, patient and kind that I have worked my way from getting gas and full freezing for a CLEANING to only needing a little gel freezing to help with regular checkups. Yesterday’s procedure was NOT a regular appointment, it was invasive surgery and I was very anxious going in to it. I have a neck speaker and after listening to the first half of the podcast in my truck (engrossed in your interview) I transitioned to the neck speaker while I waited for the procedure begin. I then brought you along (so to speak) for the procedure and I did my best to focus on your positivity as you explained that you believe that the body speaks to you and you used the power of meditation to heal and to overcome the feelings of stress and anxiety. Your words, in that moment, spoke to me in a way that I have always connected with… I call it my inner power. As the procedure began, you were talking about the power of meditation and I paused the podcast (on my Apple Watch) and asked them to hand me my phone… I switched the podcast to a guided meditation after confirming how long this procedure was going to be ….. I felt my heart pounding in my chest, my hands were shaking, my shoulders tense and I knew where this was headed if I didn’t take control … I laid there in a terrified and vulnerable fight or flight state, and then the voice spoke to me… breathe in through your nose… breathe out…. relax your shoulders and unclench your hands … focus on my voice and breathe …. I can’t express how this entire procedure (while it had many challenges) was less traumatic to me because of your reminder to go within …. In the exact moments leading up to what could have spiralled me into another negative experience .. you shared your message.. just in time to help me… Everything happens when it is supposed to …. Today, I am on the mend, in a state of healing and with good memories of what could have been another traumatic experience to add to my already thick history. I wanted to put this message out there (whether you read it or not) as a Thank you, so that you know without a doubt that the energy you share, your love and your light, your adventures and authentic struggles have helped me… in more ways than I can ever explain. Much love on your continued journey 🙏❤️ Sincerely, Candis

Bec you are totally in your element with this podcast. I am so impressed by the way you engage with and question your guests. Similarly, I think Eamon is so in his element with vlogs, especially at the cabin! I hope you all continue to create in both ways.

Bec and Eamon thank you for allowing Abby and Matt to speak more into their life, this will hopefully open more eyes to the fact that we are all human beings with real feelings. Let us all spread love and get better at online positive connectivity. Our babies deserve this future and so do we all.

I feel like anyone sharing negative energy in these comments, doesn’t belong in Eamon and Bec’s community. These are real people. Step out from behind your keyboard and try some empathy. In real life you don’t click with everyone and sometimes you disagree with peoples choices. But when you are face to face you show respect and kindness. ❤

I'm also amazed by the negativity from so many people who claim to resonate with Eamon and Bec. This conversation was pretty raw and authentic and I don't need to go research the gossip about these people I've never encountered before to find some reason to criticize them. People saying they're surface level clearly didn't watch the second half of the episode. This was a very real conversation. I had no idea Lee's suicide was related to online hate. I would expect less judgment from this community. Makes me a little sad.

Where are all the Eamon and Bec fans? I thought we were better than this and would stand up to bullying. Everyone is scared to defend someone due to selfish reasons…most of you are out of high school…maybe grow up?..we all should be lifting each other up not pushing them down and trying to suffocate them.

What do you mean by using the word “bullying?” People are free to have a different option, it’s not bullying.

I am truly perplexed by some of these comments. Please, I beg of all of you that left negative comments…please ask yourself why?Why even comment a negative or condemning comment? I only came to the comment section to find this young couple to check out their podcast as well and the comments left me feeling truly saddened. I am not saying you don’t have the right to feel a way or even have a negative perspective. My question is why even put it on this page? Eamon and Bec are truly trying to bring some positivity to a very divided world we live in. Their unconditional love of humans is what this entire world needs more of. Please just keep their page positive, respect them enough to do this. Positivity, love and encouragement is what they created this podcast for. To broaden all of our way of thinking maybe… We can have different opinions of anything and everything and still love one another. Thank you Eamon and Bec for this podcast.

Tamaraz, honest feedback is natural for podcast platforms and important. There is zero nada nothing wrong with sharing such in a “subtle” or truthful manner. Are you planning to respond to the many others who had a similar (or far less “subtle”) reaction? Cuz there’s many.

It’s a lot easier to tune out people saying “like” a lot if you realize it tends to be used a filler word when you’re not exactly sure what to say next or trying to describe something (which like is frequently used for) and not assuming someone is stupid. In fact, “like” and “umm” and other similar words are often associated with anxiety so it helps you view people with more love.

What you said about negative comments is exactly why I am holding firm on not allowing my neurodivergent middle school child to have social media. The neurological consequences of social media are not known for children who don’t have that sense of self or much control over their own lives. Kids who are neurodivergent have higher risks for depression, anxiety and other mental health risks. We also know social media use in teens can increase those risks for all teens. They want to know the trends and the internet culture going around but I think parents need to really consider the risks out there. I’m not worried about her seeing content as much as I worry about the culture and community she’d be seeing. Content is easier to curate and approve but the people are who I don’t trust with her heart and her mind. Love for Lee ❤

Bec&Eamon are not dummies (; they know that if they come from a place of genuine care that people are more able to identify with what they’re saying. Matt needed yo hear this. Matt is still really young in “manhood” so Eamon speaking upon success through authenticity is exactly what the Dr. ordered for Matt to hear and hopefully mull over and copy as he hopefully chooses grow as a husband and father. Matt needs more male influences like Eamon. And Abby needs to hear that she also has a valid voice behind the scenes.
