Matt, thanks for this video. I already have the 700 mm slug barrel and power plenum. Huma high flow transfer port on it's way. Was contemplating putting in a softer valve spring, your video gave me the node. Reg set at 145 bar. NS slugs 30 gr stock valve spring 814 ft/s. Fitted softer valve sping, same slug now 914 ft/s. Will be making the pellet probe from the video this weekend. When the high flow tranferport arrive my gun should be a beast. Tanks again

Fascinating Matt! I love knowing you're always working on something improved and better! This, however, puts other "pellet" rifles further behind. My dream is to have FX come out with a wood stocked version of this same performance, but alas there must be some kind of technological reason that they (and all other companies) c cannot pack all of these power features into a wood stocked variant😔. Until the ending discussion, I didn't see why you chose the .22 caliber. Now, when do you see a .25 version being released? When it is I'll be buying one! Thank you for everything mate😄!!

A really good video. The Impact is still a awsome airgun. 70+ FPE with .22 is very good. I like it. But i like the Dreamline too, especially with the GRS stock. With the tuned Dreamline i get nearly such a high muzzle energy. With cal. 22, 40 grain slug, 600mm FX slug Barrel, a big plenum an a tungsten hammer i get about 67 FPE with the Dreamline! I really like to tune airguns and videos like this.

@FarmerFpv2 жыл бұрын
My .22 has better penetration on feral hogs than my .25. Using a heavier .22 at a higher velocity drops them dead in their tracks right next to my deer feeders. Skipping the 25 and getting the .30 al would be better. .25 is the black sheep which makes it attractive but I've always had better success with a .22 or .30 cals

Wow exactly what I always wanted, it was either the Huben or the Impact and if I can make the same power always going for impact. 0 need for .22LR anymore with the ballistics we have now in airguns.
@rolexr4 жыл бұрын
That‘s really tremendous Airgun power! But…you could also use a good .22lr bolt action rifle with a silencer for half the price and the ammo is not much more expensive than those airgun slugs. And…even more power! So my opinion is: Airguns should stay airguns and not to try to duplicate rimfire power!
@samsawyer21454 жыл бұрын
I see where your coming from,I wouldn’t set my gun up more than 50 flbs, much more than that and yeh you might aswel have .22lr.There is just something about power from Airguns just feels good.
@TheArtofBoxing1014 жыл бұрын
The ammo adds up if you do tons of shooting, especially target shooting. Also some folks like the ability to shoot in their backyards with proper backing without getting the cops called on you (will happen even with subsonic and silencer sometimes from old ladies lmao). Also another one is if you live in a commy state like California like I do we can't even have silencers and we need background checks for even ammo now which I'm just so against.
@michaell3974 жыл бұрын
LOL! I guess we should all be shooting stick bows as well. None of the high end well engineered compounds. Rolexr huh? Wouldn't a simple quartz timex keep better time. Yeah, I know, I wear Rolex and Paneria myself. It's about the technology and challenge. Not the end result of the hunt! Did I mention that a high quality air gun will make the best .22lr take a way back seat in accuracy? Well, they can and do! to the point they are not allowed at most bench rest and long range .22 matches. Humm! You should have seen the prices collectors and dealers got for my knives! Holy ------ Heck, I couldn't even afford one! A hardware store knife will cut! It is about the art/ materials, and precision craftsmanship. You Know, like a Rolex. ;
@rolexr4 жыл бұрын
michael l …O.k. My intention has nothing to do against high tech airguns. I can only speak as a German sportshooter. I can buy and own high powered .22 air rifles if I want, but I can only shoot it on a shooting range. So if I want to shoot there, I rather pack my .17hmr or my .308Win instead of an 90 Joule airgun. They make more fun on a range. I own 5 air rifles as well and they only have 7,5 joules (5,6FPE)and are free without a permission and you can shoot backyard or indoor in your house if you want. For airgun hunters it’s another cup of tea. But the prices of the PPC‘s are way over the top. So that’s all what I wanted to say and it is just my opinion 😉

I had my .30 pellet probe fire out nearly hitting my head as it ricocheted off my Saber tactical butt stock, a part from deafening and scaring the life out of me, it’s made me very wary of firing my impact, despite being fixed. So please please make sure this newly designed probe isn’t only held in by a tiny 4mm grub screw. It seems madness that it isn’t screwed in place as well as locked in by the grub screw.

Plaidcladcanuck it was close, it wasn’t till after that it sunk in how lucky I was. Yes there is enough room to screw in a larger screw, big design fault, let’s hope it doesn’t take someone to be killed before it’s changed. Ernest Row has in fact got a video on having to put an extra screw in because he wanted to be extra safe, open your eyes fx.
@FYMM694 жыл бұрын
Andy Chapman yes lets hope they don’t continue to overlook this simple safety feature before they end up facing a Very Costly Lawsuit. My very first Impact which is a 3rd Gen MK1 is suppose to arrive tomorrow so I’m not familiar with the pellet probe placement but on my new .25 Crown there certainly is enough room to have them design a 2nd machine screw along the length of the pellet probe while having the bolt pulled back. FX in my humble opinion leads the industry and continually improving but ya to overlook safety features like this if not addressed could end up hurting them where it counts

Well, I just ordered a Element Optics Helix 6-24x50, I couldn't afford the Nexus, but hope this Helix is a good scope, cause 400euros is steep as it is in my book. After reading all the information on these scopes I was convinced the Helix would be for me. I was looking at getting an Airmax Hawke scope at 6-24x50 which was around same price but I REALLY don't need IR, and that reticle I just didn't like. The only other scope's reticle I loved was on the Falcon scope. So yeah, I'm hoping that the Element Optics scope delivers...

Hi Matt, thanks for sharing all of your insights on long range precision shooting in a MD custom FX impact! At the end of your video, you mention the machine wont be pushing the gun too hard. However, if you set the regulator to 170 bar, aren't the internals of the gun prone to being stressed? Also, did you modified the regulator to your gun (HUMA/AMP), as regs usually are limited to approx 150 bar? Keep up your great work for (air)gun enthusiast! 👍

Matt, I love you channel, probably above all other hunting channels and I really enjoy the tech in airguns, but, its very hard to justify why anyone would use an airgun above say above +50 FtLbs and not just use a 22LR. Same noise - 100+ft/lbs really cheap, really accurate. Change my mind please,..... but for me, - Airgun- up to 50 Ftlbs, ---22LR sub up to 120 Mts small game if noise is an issue, then 17HMR out to 200, then -22-250 or 204 Ruger. I really love the new tech in high power airguns BUT cant see why to use them and pay 2.5K for a 80 ftlbs airgun and not just get a 22CZ? Perhaps make a vid on 'horses for courses'- 22LR vs high power airgun' ?

Ok I see the point if the law is different between high power airgun and 22LR. (Stupid law in that case) I had a 40ftlbs Daystate airgun and 22LR Martini using Eley sup HP. Honestly nothing to tell them apart with noise- both suppressed.

I paid 1,900 us for my impact mk2 compact and waited 2 months for it to get to my house,and let me tell you that I have Never Ever held a air rifle with the quality it has.There is literally No cheap parts,and everything is cnc to perfection,all pieces fit like puzzle pieces,the materials are the basically the best,6061 aluminum, steel,carbon fiber and ballistic polymer for the cheek rest,there is no plastic bits in between to cut corners,and the QC is very high.Before I bought one I only seen videos and pictures of it, and figured it will be nice based on people's reviews and reading about the materials used ect. However I did Not expect it to be so high quality when I pulled it out of its hard case, it blew me away lol,my sister is into guns and she was like"damn this is like a real rifle with the quality and weight of it!"To me fx goes above and beyond making their air rifles, and It became very apparent what I paid for!And would say it is worth every penny IMHO.

Wacking Pigeons from 200 yards is pretty incredible. It would seem squirrel hunters @ 70 yards could benefit easily. Please advise.

Matt - I run a Daystate @40ftlb and have all sorts of firearms but my Daystate is for shooting upwards - Watching your video where you have made an FX into what is closely related to a 22LR means that cost wise if you were safe to shoot a 30grn slug @70-75ftlb into the air then surely you may as well save thousands by buying a 22LR plus you would have the ability to carry many shells rather than huge dive cylinders of air - Here in the UK you wouldn't shoot a 22LR Into the air for safety reasons
