@@hfar_in_the_sky it's because it's a legacy skill from Knowledge (Nature) and there would be dozens of Knowledge () skills like Knowledge (Arcana) to identify spells or Knowledge (The Planes) to identify planar entities and locations, as well as cast Plane Shift. For 5e they decided to simplify this, but at the same time removed the fact that Druids got a lot of skill points to dump into Nature. Maybe a good idea for a 1st level class feature all druids get would be Expertise in Nature

That negative nature score is why we house rule the knowledge checks based off your class. A wizard would use intelligence cuz they are book learners. Clerics and paladins would use wisdom for religion. Druids would use wisdom for nature. Warlocks use charisma for knowledge checks involving their pact.
