Garstka is crazy technical but to me Halpern is a better composer when it comes to serving their respective music. Just real feel in his playing with unbelievable ghost notes. That being said Garstka has better ghost notes, king of rudiments but not half the composer Halpern is

matt has a lot of feel and groove, it's just layered in complexity. they're not parts you can listen to a few times and take away a lot. i think parrhesia is his best work on animals. outside of that probably cosmic liberty with casimir liberski.

There's no doubt about that Gartska overplays A LOT. Halpern is way more tasteful and can do all the same shit Gartska does anyways
