Heya Matt, our ancestors used to sleep in chunks; they called it First Sleep and Second Sleep. Before artificial lighting, they'd sleep for a bit, wake up for a bit "keeping it real," then go back to sleep. I started doing that about a dozen years ago and it's been life changing for me. Instead of harumphing around trying to sleep in the middle of the night, I get up and do any number of things (including watching then commenting on my favorite podcast) then go back to sleep a few hours later. I call it Sleeping Outside of the Box and wrote all about it, but KZbin doesn't much cotton to adding links. I come to you what I am. Sleep well, man.

Hey Insomniacs.. Try 1/40th a hit of lsd in the daytime. I went literally years w/ no more than 2 hours a night of sleep. Someone had me try microdosing (for the hell of it.. not for sleep). That night, I slept like a baby. The next night, I slept. The next night, I slept a little. Turns out, 1/40th a hit will allow me to sleep for about 3 days. Then it's back to no sleep. So.. twice a month, I microdose. (I have been to doctors, for sleep studies, no one could help. Traditional sleep meds would make me groggy and dizzy, but still unable to sleep). (Assuming a 'hit' is 100 micrograms, so I'm taking about 2.5 micrograms. Not enough to 'feel' anything the day I take it. But I sleep that night.)
