@@Sharvictus because of the location of the harmonic on the string, the neck pickup on 22-fret guitars tends to sound ‘sweeter’ than on 24 fret guitars. Its a trade-off: better tone vs extended range on the fretboard.

I own your former 7 string epiphone model, i really love the sound you've got with it because of its scale length. It feels more personal than your new model which reminds me (a lot) of a 7string ESP ecipse. I'm gonna stick with the 24,75", slightly rounder than a 25,5" neck guitar

Just got my 7-string in white 26 Sep 2022 and I absolutely love it. I was shocked initially at how light it was because I'm used to heavy Les Paul's it was almost off putting but because of the way it resonates in my hands and against my body I can't complain.

When he was playing the clean parts on the white guitar he had a voicing engaged that sounds exactly like a voicing on the tosin abasi fishman’s set. I really like that percussive voicing and will probably get one of these now since I see it has that tone option 🌚.

I'll definitely be buying one if/when the Evertune version comes out. All the mods you've done to this new version are exactly the kinds of things I would want to to a Les Paul (except the new neck joint but I'll reserve my judgment until I can actually try one), so I'm stoked to see this.

Might have an option to buy from epiphone and have it sent to Evertune to install, or buying one direct from Evertune (like LTD did with their recent limited edition cranberry run), but I'd bet there is not a production run of Evertune models due to cost and tooling. Could be wrong, but that was what was being circulated a few months ago.

Called sweetwater and I’m now in line for a 6 string in bone white. Asked about an evertune version but they don’t have access to all the specs yet. Order came to 1189 USD. They said I’ll be notified when it ships this summer! I’ll order a 7 after I can experience the 6. I also love my Holcomb seven so I don’t NEED a new 7 string…..but I do want one.

I CANNOT wait to get my hands on one! Ever since the first look I've been debating which color, but dammit if that white ain't the winner. It was beyond cool to follow along and see how you made choices on the smallest things. The knobs, heel carve, strap locks, neck shape, etc. Such gorgeous guitars and the attention to detail to make them how YOU like them is exactly what signature guitars should be about. Nice work and cannot be said enough that Jody knows how to spec a guitar👌

​@@the_hippykiller22 For instance, the "standard LP" heel block is just that, a block that restricts your hand from keeping an ergonomic position while playing higher up, and either forces you to stretch or readjust your hand position entirely. As a comparison, this heel carve on Matt's guitar both removes that excess material from between your thumb and fingers and has a "scoop" that caters to your hand's position and shape at that point in the neck. Which should allow for you to maintain a better (more comfortable/ergonomic) playing position while moving up toward the higher frets. I will of course grant you, this is coming from myself as a guitar builder, rather than a guitar player :) But as one of my oldest personal guitars is a LP-style guitar, I can attest to the "block heel" being rather uncomfortable, atleast for me, and in so understanding that some redesigns in that area are much appreciated.

@@IPGuitars Nah you don't get it dude, the older Heafy signature didn't have the standard LP heel, it had the "Axcess" heel which is Gibson & Epiphone name for perfectly shaved heels as you can find on NEW series of Ltd EC1000 and some ESP Eclipse, Schecter Solo II and others. It was featured on the Gibson Axcess LP Custom, Alex Lifeson signature, HP series and several others. Look it up on google, it was great but they abandoned it on the new "Modern" series on both Gibson and Epiphone for this half-done job which is wayyy less comfortable and makes zero sense from a playing standpoint compared to the axcess heel (still better than the horrible standard lp block, worst thing on my lp for sure). Many people don't understand this choice, this is plain stupid honestly (Agufish talked about it on his review of the Gibson les paul modern among others). And now the Heafy sig doesn't get the axcess heel anymore but this inferior heel for cost cutting measures (so they don't need to retool and just use the standard epiphone les paul modern bodies at the factory). And now Matt implies that it's an improvement which is dishonest in my opinion. I'd just rather pay a little extra for the axcess heel and not this half done job. I've been dreaming of a lefty Les Paul with a great upper fret access for ages and this was supposed to be it but no, it won't, this will just be okayish. People with giant hands like Matt won't have a problem with it but me and my tiny hands, we're fucked. So I guess I'll stick to ESP once again even though they don't have the cool LP shape.

First thing I noticed is the lack of the axcess heel, and googling for a bit it seems there was kinda of a "controversy" on the choice... Honestly it's one of my favorite aspects of the previous model (own a 7 string OG MKH). I'm too used to it by now. But I really liked the new pickups and their setup, an upgrade for the machine heads was sorely needed, it's the only thing I changed on mine so I'm happy to see it changed on the newer one. All in all, I'm excited to get a new one, probably a white 6s since I have a black 7s already, and the lack of axcess heel maybe won't matter too much since when I need to do more complex stuff down-scale I tend to use something with a thinner neck to compensate for my lack of skill, lol.

You have the additional full octave for sweeps, arpeggios and soloing in general. But then again not quite the playstyle people play with les pauls. But if youre already go for a longer scale, why not add those extra two frets, not like it has any disadvantages.

Indeed i saw guys with their LP's customs gotten a axcess heel mod they just shaved the binding below the neck away cosmeticly it looked more roadwornd like you played so fast the binding burned off 😅🤣 so yeah i taught they would have go to that after the first mkh's since they also didn't had the back binding oh well go to a luthier and apply binding later dude if it works for you i mean i have a few ideas myself for when i get a the new white mkh 6 a tribute project to all my fav lp players who inspired me to pick one up so yeah depending one how it feels and looks in real live and plays sounds i'll keep my ideas open ;)

@@brianwillis8447 Nope. I said that 7 string model with passive sized pickups would sell better as they are easier to swap. Also making signature model, as you know, is way of putting sometimes more compromises to the guitar, to make it more popular to the public. If you compare Matts old and new signature models, they have nothing in common except color and LP shape. Different: scale, neck profile, pickups, knobs, headstock designs and neck to body joint. So changing soapbars to passive sized pickups is not as much as you are traing to show. ;)
