I disagree. He took (and still takes) vocal lessons and god, he's getting better every year now. His screams live are spot on (he's gotten better every time I saw them) and his clean vocals have improved like hell over the years (see some of his acoustic covers on twitch). I compare his story with Corey Taylor sometimes. Corey also lost his screams but with the right vocal technique he's screaming Duality/People=Bullshit/.... like he's 20 again. See Matt's full playthrough of WTDMS on youtube (take The Defiant for example) and you'll see what I mean.

Great video but since Matt is a baritone and sings/belts primarily in chest voice its hard to find any real notes 5th octave and beyond. This is why pretty much the whole 5th octave is screams which although technically have a note, dont really count as being part of a range imo. This is because most of them are voiceless screams in which vocal cords arent undulating at all. Although im sure he can hit a good amount of these higher notes with mixed or head voice

Informative video as always! Are you able to try: Micheal Mills (Ayreon and Toehider) - huge range though. Maybe just look at Ayreon stuff. Nils Molin (Amaranthe and Dynazty) - or maybe just a Manifest focused video like you did for Elize. Elize mentioned she had to write the vocal lines lower to suit him better. Problem here is that screams don't have pitches. Just because the way you measure this shows a c5 for example doesn't mean the whole sound is, it is very random and his voice could've been doing a c5 for a split second. This doesn't count for all screams but definitely most of them. Chaos Reign was accurate, but Kirisute Gomen sure as hell wasn't.
