When I was overseas, in 2005, I wrote Matt Hughes explaining that he was my favorite fighter. I also told him how we both shared a love for wrestling. He sent me an “Army of One” shirt, the one he always wore in the octagon, and an autographed pic. Top notch in my book. Godspeed on your recovery Matt.

I was supposed to be permanently, majorly damaged but with the quickness and then skill of the surgeon I came out fine. Three months ICU, three months the next step down and then three months of the same therapy's he had. I have epilepsy but am otherwise normal. @@jamesireland9188 Dana White kept Hughes employed well after his career was over and when the company sold he could no longer justify his salary to the new owners. This is well documented. When Matt Hughes got injured he called Hughes' wife and asked if ever there was anything he could do to just ask and that was confirmed by Matt Hughes himself when the documentary was released in their on stage interview. Dana White may have character flaws but his loyalty to guys like Hughes, Liddell, Griffin etc. has never been in question.

Matt seems infinitely more humble after his accident. It's interesting how tragedy can humble us, as we come to see the need for help, and consideration from others. It expands our empathy, and understanding.

Bioxcellerator and Matt hit the jackpot when it comes to treatment. Not the accident of course but bio got one of the best fighters to EVER do it and Hughes is getting the best care and treatment. Stem cells are the future. Keep getting better Matt people need you.
