Very funny and insightful conversation. Love Matt Johnson to death, Nirvanna the Band the Show is one of the greatest shows of all time. Just seeing the boys again in that video they made for Mega64 filled me with such pure joy it's hard to even put into words. Will patiently wait for S3, no matter how long it takes.

If Matt is ever in LA you got to get him back for a part 2. The man is a living legend. I've followed his career for about a decade now and I gotta praise the fact that you had him on your show.

This episode felt less like a podcast and more like listening in on two friends stumbling into an incredibly thoughtful and connected conversation. What a gem Matt is! So reflective and candid. Thanks for another great one 🤍

I connect so much with Matt's 90s gamer persona. I love that when he tells a story about how he was scared by a ghost, he sums up how scared he was by saying "I quit EverQuest". If you were a 90s gamer hooked on EQ, you know how hard that was to do.

When Pete mentioned Lord of the Rings and how you should hold onto power, you should throw it into the fire. I lingered on that situation and thought: "If I can give everyone the means to help others, then when I am in need, someone will help." And that ladies and gentlemen is a power that won't corrupt. Conversation was truly enlightening. Cruisin' USA

Pete's desire to call out the bullshit of a movie production reminded me of the R.D. Laing quote, "They are playing a game. They are playing at not playing a game. If I show them I see they are, I shall break the rules and they will punish me. I must play their game, of not seeing I see the game” -Dunno what the punishment is quite. This kind of opprobrium?

Pete I love you but please have a dermatologist on. There is nothing wrong with any sunscreen on the market. They are all tested throughly and are safe. Zinc oxide is just a mineral just like uranium is. It’s not any more inherently safe for your skin than any other sunscreen “natural” doesn’t mean better. The most toxic substances on earth are all found in nature. (Botox, arsenic etc.). You might be scaring someone away from using a perfectly safe and effective sunscreen and they might end up with cancer. You are misinformed I’m sorry to say it and it would do you and your audience a huge favor to try to have an expert (chemical engineer etc) that can explain this better than I can

So I listened to this whole podcast with no idea what Mr. Johnson looked like. I even remember at the very beginning there was a vague mention that you could be brothers or cousins, but my brain put a very different face to Matt Johnson's voice. There was a level of clarity and intelligence and genuineness... Then I watched Nirvana the band the show and I was confronted with one of those moments of questioning if this man had some intellectual disabilities that were un diagnosed. I'm going to take a minute to really let that settle those two divergent things. It's a really good interview and way weirder than I expected
