I’ve made that call numerous times, and I would do it again in a heartbeat, because I’ve been on the receiving end of that call a few times as well….4 years clean from self harm as of yesterday :)

Sometimes that gut instict means something. My dad has a friend who travels alot. He happened to be in town 4 months ago and felt like he should come visit dad. But decided to do it next time. So 4 months later he knocked on the door ready to visit. He was 3 months too late, dad had died within 3 weeks of that gut feeling. Then found out another of their friends had also died a month prior. Had he stopped in town to visit last chance he had he could have seen them both.

My step brother OD shortly after his girlfriend broke up with him. He had been clean for 5 years. Looking back I wish I had called and talked to him more. Maybe he would have called me before he turned back to drugs. I miss him so very much. Please don't wait call those close to you and let them know you are there if they need help.

So sorry for your loss my son took his own life in 2017 and my baby girl was killed in 79.. Bless you i understand i wish i didn't but sadly i do. but i will be seeing him very soon i am losing the fight with cancer i am at peace with it.
