I remember reading somewhere that Matt indeed came to admit that he had a secret crush on Jennifer whilst filming the show. Without a doubt did Jennifer and David had feelings of affection for each other too. The reason why the chemistry was working so well and that James Burrows paired them up from the very beginning in the first episode in the scene where his character, Ross, was *grabbing* a spoon. Nevertheless, business is business. The risk of failure for the show once in real life they had to go through a break-up for example, was too big and the reason why *nobody* on the show went ever further than just being friends. The world of acting is a hard place sometimes.
