Matt is a legend. In 2008 BMTH had a show in my tiny ass hometown and the venue wouldn’t let me and my older brother in because I was 9 years old and the show was 16+. When we were walking away I saw Matt loading his drums in at the side of the venue and I walked up to him with my older brother and said hi and he asked if we’d be seeing the show. We told him that we can’t see the show since we couldn’t get in, dude proceeded to take me and my brother up to security at the back door and argued with them until they let us in. Not only that but he let us watch side stage and let me meet oli and the rest of the band before the show started. Will forever be one of the best moments of my life and meant so much to me and my brother. Shoutout Matt

I loved the questions and the fact that Matt was the one to answer them!! He's so brutally honest with the answers, it's great. Buuut I disagree a lot about the old songs. Sure, the first EP and first album are really hit or miss tracks, but Suicide Season and There Is A Hell are great original styles of music with a lot of musicality and spirit to them! There's just a lot more screaming. And the majority of the fanbase probably likes the newer stuff, but there's SO many people who would love to hear songs like Suicide Season, Diamonds Aren't Forever and It Never Ends live, trust me. Kind of a pity that concert times are so limited.

@@darkflame2067 What are you talking about? You just pulled that out of your asshole! lol. BMTH never said they regret the old songs. OP never said he regretted that past either. It's just that they got sick of playing the same shit over and over again, when they already made several newer songs and RIGHT NOW means something to them. It's relevant to them now, while that old suff MEANT something all those years ago. Nto anymore they've moved on and BMTH as always been a very crative band, they never made the same album twice, they liek to experiment and progress with their sound. And that a good things, cuz keeps them relevant and there's always the possibility of releasing a great album, maybe even their best music ever.(even you you don't like it). If they kept playing the same style, the same songs and making the same album over and over again, that couldn't happen cuz they wouldn't be making anything different it would be just what you've heard before, done better when it meant something to people who made it. Thats the case fo every band that never really changed their sound. I'll even use examples from bands i like Slayer and Cannibal Corpse. Their sounds didn't change, pretty much the same and I almost everything they made. But people only care about their classic early albums. That's everybody's favorites. Not the new ones.

I mean, they don’t though. They did a whole festival centered around them last year. Save for their 2021 UK tour, pretty much every tour since 2018 has had a song from the first 3 albums on it. It’s like what he said: they just prefer the newer stuff. Oil’s even got the false chords from SS back; I saw them do Diamonds last October and it was basically identical to the album, save from Bryan Garris’ parts. It’s a way for me to express myself in a way that I want to without it having to be a Bring Me The Horizon song,” he explains. “If I want to do a super-poppy song, I can go off and do that. At the end of the day, sometimes it might not make sense for us to write a song that’s got no guitars or isn’t heavy, because it won’t translate live or it won’t stand up against our other songs. “I love being able to do something like Ed Sheeran, and then go off and work with a super-heavy band.- Oliver's one word with an interview with Kerran back in 2021

Believing to have bettered themselves with every album, Oli enthuses that it’s not that the band don’t want to play their older material, but they struggle to fit those grunting gangbusters in alongside the likes of Drown, so will be exorcising those demons to their fullest, picking tunes they haven’t played in up to 15 years. In a strange twist of fate, however, it does feel as though actual heavy music is on the up again, and the new breed of abrasive acts like Pupil Slicer, Heriot and Wristmeetrazor wouldn’t sound out of place alongside those early BMTH records. But will we ever see Horizon ever go full-heavy again? again Oliver's words

Hey maybe consider the fact your opinion is not the "right" one? If they dont like their older stuff that much then they dont like it. What a shit attitude to have
