It's been a while I haven't heard this song. When working at home, God put a single beautiful lyric onto my mind "I'm coming back to the heart of worship.." I searched the lyrics and found it on Google. My heart melted and I burst into tears...Lord Jesus Christ reminds me so much great things and my heart belongs to Him! It's always about You Jesus!

Ah what has happened to worship nowadays? Worship has become about us. Its about hearing the hymns we grew up with, or hearing the music which helps us get emotional. Whatever happened to simply coming before our God and telling him how amazing he is and how no one can compare to him? Whatever happened to simply kneeling and weeping at his presence? Whatever happened to just being content to lie in his arms and rest? Whatever happened to love you don't have to fake? God, you are so great.

My love for music and my love for God are perfectly aligned. Being a worship leader can be tough sometimes. Sometimes the enemy tells me that I just love the worship team because I get to preform. This is true. But I don't preform for me. I preform the the King. I love to worship Him any chance I get. Jesus is all that I am sure of.

Once people understand this song...everything tends to make more sense. God takes you to a higher levels and you begin to see things more clearly. Before I head to church I try to make sure that my worship begins at home. I remember walking quickly towards the church one Sunday, and an usher at the parking lot yelled, "No need to hurry! The service begins in 5 more minutes! You still have five more minutes!" My response was, "What are you talking about? The service all ready started, I'm just bringing it to church."

And of course, it's all about Him: Jesus!!! So thankful for his mercy and grace and how he saved this wretch of a man. To Him be the glory!

Does anyone want to hear the story of why this song was written? The church in Watford was famed for its worship, but Mikey P thought that they had become too obsessed with the way the music sounded and not what it meant. He made them sit in silence for several church services. Eventually Matt Redman wrote this song, directing the people back to the true meaning of worship. Because Worship isn't to please us, its to please Jesus. It's more moving when Mike tells it, but that's the story.
