As a Patriots fan who has watched Slat since his rookie year, he has always been my favorite. One of the best players, men, fathers, and leaders I have ever seen. I’m so glad I got to grow up seeing that type of leadership in professional sports and having someone to look up to like him.

As an old life long Patriots fan, Matthew is always going to be one of my all time favorites. That young man is class personified. He will be sorely missed.
