We haven't even seen Emma in the role yet, despite the fact that they were actually cast before Milly. Rhaenyra was ALWAYS Emma's role. And they need an older actor because the story takes place in the timespan of 30 years. I think we should reserve judgement until we see Emma in the role - the casting so far has been great, so I'm sure they'll be fantastic.

For the past two episodes, Milly Alcock has been brilliant as Rhaenyra and stealing scenes from veteran actors. In my opinion, her not being in the whole season and probably not season 2 is the best possible thing to happen for her career, ensuring her availability for other endeavors. I look forward to seeing her bright talent in her remaining episodes and future roles!

And unfortunately the source material states Rhaenyra isn’t some glamour girl. She’s not beautiful like Daenerys as she grows up. Not saying older rhaenyra isn’t beautiful in her own right, she’s just got more of a harsh beauty. I’ve seen people saying they want her fatter and others saying she’s not pretty enough. Maesters without chains, fashions are different, which I loved, since that's the nature of time. Millie, Matt and Paddy were amazing and I am already invested. And hearing old Rickon Stark and that Got theme song made me tear up. Gods, it's been too long!!
