He's very, very good. He used to play professional football and was going to become a professional player until he had a serious back injury in a game when he was sixteen, had to be in therapy for a year and abandon his dreams. It's quite sad.

No it’s because he had already passed 50 and isn’t that obnoxious to continue when everyone is waiting on him. He was good enough to be a professional footballer by all accounts before a bad injury at a young age so doubt he lost control, professional level ballers can do that all day without losing control.

I knew a guy that could do that while walking to the store about 1 kilometer from his house. When he got there he kicked it high enough to grab it. Bought the stuff he wanted, left the store and started bouncing the ball again. That ball never touched the ground once from the time he left his house to when he got back and he did it with ease.
