The fact everyone keeps talking about this AB's aura, kind of tells me they haven't lost it. The fact every team gets up for an AB's game tells me they still have it. The fact that im sure it will be a sell out in Dublin on Friday night, and ticket prices will probably be at a premium, tells me they haven't lost it. The reality is the AB's have to perform in every single game because they have a target on their back. Irish fans forget the AB's beat them convincingly in the first, in their series win. These sports commentators have terrible memories.

All Black haven't lost their aura. It's just that Ireland and others have constantly improved over the years. No one gives credit for this.. It's got to be a NZ downfall if they lose and no credit for the improvement of others.

@@tvpc3194 if that was your measuring stick, the only game played in the world would be soccer. They call it the world game and the world is a mess!

You just have to look at the first game of the series 2 years ago in NZ to see how potent the ABs can be and how quick a game can be put out of reach. Ireland werent exactly outplayed in that game but they still lost by 20 odd points. As for aura being lost, matt is spot on in that the rest of the world, especially ireland has caught up/improved and once Ireland got that first win out of the way in 2016 the monkey was off their back. Same will no doubt happen when they get rid of that QF burden. Im a kiwi and love these rivalries. Its great for the game.

Thing is, they are competitive but yes, they have lost their aura in that they were once feared. But now they aren't.

Don't mistake the ABs current lull as the status quo. The ABs 'Aura', if you want to call it that; is born fo 100 years of sustained excellence. That is not undone but a few poor years (by their own standards - still good enough to make a RWC final). This all pangs of wishful thinking. They have a new coaching setup and some bright new stars emerging as they change guard over the next few years. Ireland are still perfoming well but its essentially the same team that Joe Schmidt built. We will test their true depth as they themselves cycle out old for new players and coaches over the next few years. Five great years of Irish rugby is the anomaly here. Watch this space.......

They are seen as petty and toxic now. Awful people really when it comes to rugby. Not many people respect them like in the past
