Who says Jesse has ADHD? Has he been diagnosed, or do people just use the term ADHD to refer to someone who gets distracted or whose thoughts are scattered? It's the same with people who throw the term OCD around, calling themselves or others who are organized and focused "OCD". These are medical terms, and true OCD will take over a person's life, as can ADHD. These guys have very good control over their lives, and are very successful, so I am skeptical that they really qualify for these labels, even though they use them themselves.

Okay, I love these monthly Q&A sessions! The raw, unpolished view of you two is refreshing, delightful, and incredibly amusing (i.e. Matt's zipper mishap; dead mouse; poo smell to name a few). I prefer the barn & one camera - I like seeing the horses in the background. Use the other space with several cameras for when you have a guest, but make that its own separate video - not a part of your monthly "un-stable" Q&A videos. I really prefer this Q&A format with just the two of you - there aren't words to express just how thoroughly entertaining you are together. You just are. 😂

I did nothing much other than thinking of the release of this video today looking at the clock ahaha, and its so dang worth it ! learnt a lot ! Love how Jesse jumps in and sprinkles his positivity to every little thing ! Such a magical soul ! 4. You both looked so handsome and thank you for speaking up about finances openly and non-conventional education systems. 5. the segment about humanizing horses made me feel a lot better. I haven’t had a lot of time lately to spend with him and i’ve felt so guilty because i think he must want to see me and waits for me. If he's not over their neighing and crying for you, then he's not pining. I think the more important thing is balance and giving them a range of enrichment but horses also need their lazy down time too. Also I think horse don't over think life as much, they are good at enjoying whatever is enjoyable in that moment instead of pining for something that is not happening in that moment, that's one of their lessons they can teach us IMO. So they can enjoy your company but also can enjoy other times with other pleasant things like just they job munching grass when they are in those environments, I don't think they do FOMO so much like humans do. So when they eat grass, they put their mind on enjoying it and not much mind on missing other types of enjoyment, they are better at living in the moment. That's my impression of them anyway, and i think a lot of it is just that we humans overcomplicate things.

When I was giving lessons I used to teach an emergency dismount. I had to learn it myself after an accident where my bitless bridle broke and literally fell off during barrel racing! To do it properly you kick off your stirrups and reach forward and to one side of the saddle (especially important western with a saddle horn!). You grip the horse around the neck and hold on tightly as you slip off their back. When your feet touch the ground you let go of their neck and push away from them. The momentum will cause you to fall backwards onto your butt and back. It is important to keep chin to chest to protect head and neck (of course you should also have your helmet on) and try to fluidly fall allowing your whole body to absorb the impact and not just land on one bit... Like a wrist. When learning the dismount work with a friend, on the long line, and at a walk to start. Work bareback and with a saddle. Practice until it is smooth and then work at different gaits. You want this to become muscle memory. Practice both keeping a rein and total release. Far better to have this in your tool box and never need it than to be on a runaway horse heading for a busy street and unable to get off safely before disaster strikes.

I suspect the problem is some peeps can't easily understand how a horse thinks so when they say 'natural horsemanship,' they are not actually understanding was is natural for that alien horse brain, they can only imagine how a human might feel. They end up applying humanmanship, not horsemanship. We have a lot of peeps like that in this area, it can make for peeps refusing to admit the training method is not working, instead they make excuses or maybe the method works on some horses but not on the more willful ones, but then they just say welp that horse is just like that, they won't accept they might need to try something different. Some places here think even light pressure and release is mean and evil, using a flag is also mean and evil, etc, very hard to train a dominant horse to respect you at all if your only way to train is giving it carrots. They end up with a horse that bites and kicks and then they lock it into a coral with little mental stimulation and claim that will make it happiest, to just stay in there forever, people don't even want to go in to clean the corral because the horse is badly behaved. They think that's nicer than using the flag or some pressure to train the horse for a few weeks so it can learn to be safe. It's so frustrating because I see a lot of these horses just need a bit of training but they won't get it.

Matt, I think you have a very healthy view and open mind about horse training, trying your best to understand your horses as much as possible, always curious to hear others' opinions and experience which is really refreshing in the horse world to be honest. Now, about the excessive mouth foaming, this is something that commonly happens when the horse can't swallow the saliva that is produced from having a bit in his mouth. The bit stimulates salivation, chewing, movement of the jaw, and swallowing, the same as when the horse would be eating. When this is combined with exercise, it can become a struggle as he needs to breath more heavily. A horse can't anatomically breath and swallow at the same time, which is why you'll see the excessive foaming as breathing is more prioritized than swallowing, thus the saliva starts to drip and cover the entire mouth of the horse. This may be stressful, as their breathing can become restricted. Even more so if they are also wearing a noseband design which restricts the airways, blocking the airflow to flow smoothly (aachen/ flash, drop noseband etc). When horses run and move their bodies freely, without the influence of a rider or handler (in play, flight, fight etc) they keep their mouth closed, lips sealed, the tongue and jaw is kept immobile and the mouth cavity is rather dry, all of this is to optimize breathing. If you are curious to check out sources and read more in depth, Horses & People Magazine posted a great article on this called "Clearing the Air on the Bit-free Debate" available to the public including the studies referenced. Always fun to share some new research and findings with curious equestrians! 😁

The ‘confusion’ does not negate the education received. Jesse said, it’s for the person to decide. Anyone who completes a four year tertiary education is to be admired. Anyone who translates their energy and attributes into their life education is to be admired. You both have achieved so much and together your different life paths have led to where you are now, complimenting each other. Differences are just that, as with this horse or that horse, accepted. It’s wonderful to be part of such conversations, of course you are both eminently qualified to transport us into your world and I thank you. May our eyes always rest on love and beauty and spectacular horses and horsemanship. Best wishes for your Grandfather and each other.❤

Just love this improv set up. It shows your sense of humor and not taking yourselves too seriously. One thing that comes to my mind when thinking aboute questions is the fact that you guys are a couple. You guys are such lovely examples of choosing your own route, being authentic and natural about that. True story: I first got to know you by stories of the daughters of my friend. I was like 45 years old and they were app. 10-13 years old. And the were head over heals in love with you guys. Talking posters in their bedroom. Just so sweet. I took them to horse event and we got to talking about you. Somehow it got to whether you had girlfriends. And then I suggested that you might be a couple. Major shock at first. And laughter and judgement. Responses that sounded like they had heard other people saying these things. But also a moment in which I could tell them that you still were both lovely boys, great horsemen and good entertainers. And that got them thinking I guess. Months later somehow the subject came up again. And there was non of the awkwardness. They had completely accepted that these two great guys are a couple, but still interesting to follow, etc. Great experience for me to see the girls come to terms with some people being gay and still be great people. So thanks!! My question is: are you ever aware of this side to your fame and how do you think about this? Love, Daniëlle

Learning to accept people as they are and without judgment is an important lesson in life and should start early as you did with the girls.. I couldn't imagine Matt and Jesse with anyone except each other.. definitely the way it was meant to be ❤❤

Long live "Unstable"!!! ✨💥✨ I like the stables for these Q&A sessions, where you can see a few heads coming out of the boxes, but the choice of location is yours, especially if you're inviting a guest. Thank you for being so transparent in your answers. The atmosphere is warm, fun, dynamic, sometimes chaotic but always very pleasant. These Q&A' s are excellent moments of enjoyment and I love them. Thank you both so much 💙

I've been reading the comments, and I agree with the folks who say to keep your current setting. I so enjoy the horses peeping out, going back inside, and peeping out again! I agree with the folks who like the name, "Un-Stabel". It describes the chaos in your lives right now. 🐴🐎🐴

Great Q&A gentleman. I grew up on a 200-acre dairy farm and we always had Belgian Draught horses. Jesse is right owning horses is a 24/7 life comment. My father at the age of 50 converted the farm into a full board stables. After I retired from teaching I took over the farm and I personally own 1 Belgian and a Shetland Stallion along with boarding 20 other horses. At the age of 74, I only tend to my Belgian and Shetland since I got them both when they were yearlings. My Belgian Hilda is an 1800-pound overgrown lap dog who loves attention. I ride her daily and Jess my Shetland has to accompany us or he has a hissyfit if he is left behind. The bond between a man and his house is a gift and is very rewarding for both. But horses need to be horses and should allowed to form relationships with other horses.

I love the natural setting you are currently in as it goes with your natural banter. One of the things I enjoy most is the fact that you two are successful and good at what you do, but also very down to earth. You haven't let success jade you in any way which happens quite often to people. Please continue to stay you!!

I think Jesse Looks like an Angel! When I first saw him two years back or so, I was stunned and had to find out who he was immediately. Since then I First only watched his videos and then later the videos of both of you. I really admire how you two build up your companies and careers. So ambitious and so passionate. I was a rider as a Child and teenager but didnt have the drive to Go for a Horse career. It would have been difficult coming out of an Academic family. So I studied African languages and wrote my Master thesis about the role of the horse in Hausa culture. Why dont you do a Series of wild horses? Like the Camargue horses or the horses of Dülmen in Germany. There is a whole culture around it and also is Part of the tourism.

I really liked that you left in the "banter" about the education / course at the end. It is a good discussion! I kind of got the feeling this kind of education (over a few years) is not really a thing where Matt grew up? Matt's approach is more sensible, but personally, I side with Jesse (go for what you are passionate about).

Love your comment on taking the horse's voice away. The consequence of not accepting that our animals (dogs, cats, horses & my guinea pigs) seems controlling and disrespectful. My daughter once had search dogs and I never heard anyone she trained with refer to their dog as a "furbaby." I love to be around horses, but I cannot get in their heads, so I clean tack and admire them. On the other hand my daughter can look at them and interpret what they are trying to communicate. You really nailed it on the head when you said humans can express their own needs and desires through their horses. I wonder how many problems are missed for the horse.

It’s such a pleasure sitting here watching and listening to you both. You are both well connected in your friendship and it shows when you bounce off one another. Just one thing if think people asking where you get your money from is a bit of a cheek and Jesse didn’t like it much. Matt you are the businessman and Jesse well Jesse is just himself. Ginger is so good for you, one tablespoon of fresh grated ginger, seeped in a boiling cup of water for 10 minutes, drained, when ok to drink, it settles all stomach bugs and keep drinking it Jesse ginger is great! You don’t have to answer all questions, especially the personal ones. Your life is your business and you have both worked hard for what you have so good luck in the future and keep smiling. ❤

Your argument about education versus real life experience was so funny because it is such a cultural tell. I have Australian family and we've had the same discussion. They definitely value on the job experience more, while in the States (and apparently in the Netherlands) a good education is the most important thing.

Hi! I wanted to thank you for the content on HorseworldTV, it's the first equestrian VOD platform I didn't unsubscribe after the first month. I love the content (more into riding and dressage related) because it gives me good references and examples to look up to and also because there are a lot of horses similar to mine (I have difficulty to access to trainers used to KWPN horses or alike). Keep up the good work ! I actually have 2 equestrian red flags : people who never seek a vet when their horse is lame/very asymmetric or very hard to work with ; and the 2nd category is behold by those who cannot help themselves but feeling a wierd sense of pride at their horses being very complicated (whilst the horses just are not well educated to behave, or not being understood by their rider when ridden).
