Yes! I left Qld Australia for Tasmania because of the horrendous heat, it makes it so difficult to enjoy horses, it's too hot to ride. My horses are so much happier in Tas without the heat, also there's almost no flies and my mare was being eaten alive despite the fly sheets, masks, boots.

37:00 - I think what Jesse is trying to say is that you can appreciate the architectures and layouts of these luxury facilities, but when you promote them on your channels you're indirectly saying you agree and support the choices they've made for the well-being (or lack there of) of their horses. So if your opinion truly is disagreeing with how some estate owners keep and manage their horses, you should not promote them on your channels, simple. EDIT: But I do appreciate your response and explanation Matt; giving a realistic view on the varying capacity to offer turnout (as an example) is a fair point. However, as you focus on the more high-end, expensive stable tours those people should have both enough space, money, staff and resources to figure out a solution where their horses can have a minimum of say 6 hours of turnout each day, training not included. Let's try and shift the focus and promote properties where the horses' welfare has been prioritized - luxury or not. You have a great and powerful platform to inspire and spread awareness if you choose to 💪

@@matt_harnackeI enjoy your barn tours for the architecture. I have a binder that I created 33 years ago of every design and product for my dream barn, which included living above the barn. I see how you and Jesse are with your own horses and how much importance you put on turnout. Unfortunately, not everyone knows or cares why horses need a lot of space and turnout. Thank you for addressing this.

I completely agree.. stables that focus far more on spectacular architecture than the well being of the horses for whom the stables were supposedly built really don't deserve to be promoted.. Matt and Jesse give the well-being of their horses top priority and I think Matt's time is better spent showcasing stables that share the same 'horses first' philosophy..

About increased scrutiny in equestrian sport: YES! I'm VERY glad to see it - especially in dressage. I think abuse has been rewarded for far too long, and by far too many people, both prominent and obscure. And let's face it - one of the reasons people love Matt and Jesse is their obvious love of horses. (No blue tongues and bloody sides here.) Decent people admire those who can accomplish a lot without brutality, and that's a very good and important lesson to teach.

Poor Jesse~ don't feel bad! I grew up near a ski resort and after hours and hours of lessons I went to tackle my first blue slope - only to have a panic attack and was carried down by mountain rescue. I was determined to conquer it so I tried again the next time we went, got off the course, accelerated waaay to fast and did three head over heels tumbles to end up right at the base of the lift, with everyone howling. Only my pride was damaged, and I've never skied since. 🤣🤣

The ski story with Jesse made me imagine Matt saying "Trust Me!!!" just before he pushes him down the mountain with an evil laugh. 😁 As for the turn out issue and the fancy barns there are a lot of keyboard warriors who think a horse should be wild and free because they watched a movie once and it was pretty. People think differently and they do thinks differently in different countries and areas. Only they know what works best for the horses they own. Nobody is wrong as long as the horse is well taken care of. Maybe they have a large pasture with barb wire as fencing and maybe someone else has a 1/2 acre paddock with wood fencing that the horses go out in for a bit. Who is anyone to say which one is right? You may have preferences but it is what you choose to do. Keep showing me the barns I could never afford and let me appreciate them for what they are.

That shows it is real and honest. Don't change. You are both who you your characters bounce off of each other. I am Jesse 100% and would need a Matt to push me out of my comfort zone always. This video, coming across as raw you, is one of your best yet. Love it. My take on the abuse and yard visits etc. Keep being open the exposure we have, the less abuse can be hidden. So if everyone stopped visiting yards etc, we wouldn't have that chance to create change. I'm all for every comp to have warm up and comp live filmed. That way any snippets shared can be corrected with evidence. The stress you are both under re home, must be huge so please take a moment, breathe and stay calm. Good luck guys ❤

Hey Matt, I understand your apprehension about limiting content on properties that feature limited turnout. That said, the previous property was either out of building code or was part of the two communities exempt from the property requirements that the rest of Wellington is subject to. I used to live in the Southeast of the US but these types of zoning rules exist for a reason. This property probably got exempt because they are featured as seasonal homes for individuals that likely compete. That said, there is no one preventing anyone from using the home year round with no turnout. Almost every city or county has these requirements, and for good reason. Welfare is one reason but the amount of waste basically turns the property into nuisance with smells similar to a feedlot, of which are limited to very rural areas as they are a major source of pollution. These are the requirements from LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF VILLAGE OF WELLINGTON FLORIDA (current): 3. Grand Prix Farms and Grand Prix Village South shall be exempt from Table 6.8-3 and shall be developed in accordance with the approved master plan. 4. Subarea B shall be limited to four stalls per acre within all barns/stables. 5. Subarea F shall be limited to four stalls per acre, with a maximum of ten stalls per lot, within the barns/stables. When no more than two adjacent lots are under common ownership and a unity of title/control is recorded, the number of stalls shall be limited to four stalls per acre, with a maximum of 20 stalls.

Hi Matt and Jesse, You are both experienced horse trainers and riders and everything you do and show on you tube, I Find extremely éducational and on à Broad scale, never boring really cool. Thé fact that there are many different people with many different opinions, I think that always exist, I would say Please do your own thing follow your own path, go for it in Life. Thank you so much for sharing, love it all.

I recommend Tasmania, the horses are so much happier without the heat and flies. I moved them right before the qld floods 2 years ago, the heat was extreme. We are experiencing a drought this winter but I wouldn't find it so stressful had I had the funds to buy enough hay to store. No regrets though.

Matt, I enjoy your stable tours. I enjoy seeing what each owner does with their animals and property. I love the architecture but I also pay attention to the horses. I watch the horse's behavior around their owners and the owner's behavior as they show you their horses. I believe the stable tours give you both ideas that you may use in your future property. Perhaps, the property you seek isn't available quite yet. It will happen. Be patient. Enjoy the process.

That has always been the issue with Wellington large stables. I struggled with it when I lived there but the horses I was around were very well taken care of. It just was a realization for me that I did not want my horses to live that way.

I love watching everything you two do. I find you both very refreshing and honest. Matt, I find your stable tours wonderful and it gives people an honest view of what’s out there so they know what choices to make for themselves. Jesse your compassion, kindness and honesty is uplifting. I’m in awe seeing you work with your horses and thank you for always sharing some of your shows. I had no idea that horses could even be trained to do these things. Both of you have such engaging personalities and I enjoy you very much. Thank you. ❤❤

I love your stable tours. I watch them as I am designing my own farm. I can see something that is a cool feature and I can modify to my own budget. I don’t see the videos as an endorsement of how they are handling their stable management. Thank you for your update on the property search. It is frustrating to not find what you really want. Ignore people who will never be satisfied with what you are doing. You love your horses and put their welfare above all else. Hence living in the stable yard with them.

I did notice, however, that Mr. Matt does most of the talking and Mr. Jesse just goes along with the conversation. 🤣🤣 Mr. Jesse seems a bit camera shy which is a shame becuz he's very photogenic (so are you Mr. Matt but you're not camera shy) Hugs for you both. 🫂🫂 Thank you for sharing your lives with your viewers. Take care.

It is a important decision, just don't settling for something that you're not going to be happy with. You make quick decisions and then later regret it. I speak from experience. Bought our home back in 2000. Started off good, but as years have gone by its been one problem after another. Back then I was 20 years younger and able to do more. Wanted a place in the country, but husband didn't want it, mainly because of being too far from work. We've been here 23 years and now he wants to move out in the country area away from all the crazy mess going on. I still want a home in the country, but the downside is I'll be 75 in August. More major decisions. Sorry this is so long but I truly just want to give you 2 cents worth and hope it will help. You two are wonderful young men and I have the highest respect for both of you. Enough said, take care, 🫂 🤗 ❤❤Rusty in Oklahoma 😊

I totally understand the worry about finding a suitable property. We had less than 6 months to find somewhere and ended up with a beautiful house and land but no equestrian facilities. We spoke to planning before buying but took a huge gamble buying a place with no facilities and no planning permission. It was a tough first year waiting for planning and having to compromise to meet their requirements but I now have my perfect yard and the horses are relaxed and happy here. Good luck and I hope you find your perfect place.

Jesse, you did great on the ski hill for a beginner. I was told by ski patrol to get off the hill my first time out 😅 Matt, thanks for being open about the stress and anxiety you’re feeling. You both have a lot going on. I do love this style of podcast, in the stable, open and honest and just catching us up about what’s going on in your lives. I also appreciate seeing all the different stable venues in your videos. People need to put their judgments on hold and activate their curiosity instead. How else can we broaden our understanding of the world?

You two are a pleasure to watch - thank you for giving us a glimpse into your lives. It's refreshing to see two people balance one another so beautifully. You both are wise far beyond your years, and your passion for what you both do really shines through. The lack of a studio gives Unstable a more open and honest feel, but the bottom line is, do this wherever you want as long as you can be comfortable being yourselves in whatever your mood is at the moment. No apologies necessary for serious conversations - it can't always be funny. You two are great - and Jesse's cup is beautiful!

You guys are quite funny to listen to when discussing certain events, etc. Congrats on the show Jesse … and you make perfect sense about your storytelling … don’t get so upset about that. You just be you … I think we can handle it and make sense of what you’re saying! As for criticism … you’re always going to get that … everyone has their own ways of doing things and/or opinions. Nobody holds it against you Matt, about the different type of stable tours … you’re just offering a look at (for some of us) how the other side lives! 😂🤣😂 To each their own … it’s not about judgement calls. No different than dog breeding kennels … some think it’s cruel to keep a dog on a kennel run … but the average breeder doesn’t … it’s the norm to them. Hopefully you’ll find a property but I do get your anxiety Matt. It’s not long before 1.5 yrs is up. Definitely it’s something you could discuss with your counsellor … techniques to de stress. None of us are truly in control of our lives … life is mostly dealing with the 10% that’s thrown at you! All the best moving forward and enjoy the Easter holiday! 🙏🙌❤️🇨🇦🍏🐴🥕🐎🍎✝️

Love the stable talks. Regular sterile podcasts do not hold my interest, and I'm more likely to drop off and ditch after a quarter of the podcast. I watch all the stable tours for exactly the reason you state, to see the architecture and differences between the properties. I'll never own a horse, much less a property as grand as those shown, but I find it fascinating. Matt, I did read the comments about the turnout size for the last property, and while many were critical of the paddocks and lack of fields, I didn't read into it that any of that had anything at all to do with you or your showing us the places owners may choose to purchase if they have the money to do so. Jesse has it right not to dwell on the negative, especially when so many love your content and want to see both of you happy. I have anxiety too, and it affects my content. It is easy for me to tell you how much I love seeing the positive way you show the care of your stable, training, and care of the animals in your care, but hard to see the same for my own care and life with my dogs. Keep on being yourself. That is what I'm here for.❤😊
