Sounds like Sureno hit the jackpot... twice. First with Matt, who understood Sureno wasn't happy as a high performance horse & took the time to find the right rehoming for him. I think Sureno will be thrilled, once he settles in, with his new, more relaxed, more natural lifestyle. Spain def. needs more 'Horse Centric' Trainers. Happy for all 3 of you. Well done 👏👏👏

As one who had to re-home my heart horse many years ago, (And promptly got in the shower, laid down in the bottom of it and cried, when getting home from signing him over, even though he went to a perfect home, as well.) I really struggled to not cry during this video!! I also love and appreciate that the term “re-home” was used, as that’s what I said for my boy all of those years ago, as well. Sureno is going to THE PERFECT home, you couldn’t have found a better new owner, and any should be so fortunate to find the same for their horses that they part with. Not all of us get our “forevers/happily ever afters” with a horse, and at the end of it all, what truly matters, is that they are loved and cared for as best as possible, even if that ends up or has to be someone else. THAT is the mark of a genuine horse lover: willing to let go, so your horse can have the absolute best life possible.💕

Brilliant ... just brilliant Matt. I'm so happy for Sureno. Matt, it was so unselfish of you to share this wonderful stallion and not keep him all to yourself ... which you could very well have done. You recognized Sureno is a special horse and needs more attention than you are able to give him, given your schedule and drive in the direction of what you wish to accomplish, in your lifetime as a horseman. You removed Sureno from his previous situation, improved his living conditions, and made an honest effort (with no money spared) to sincerely incorporate him into your life goals. For whatever reason it was not meant to be, as you opened your heart up to see it wasn't a good fit for Sureno, in the long-term. Just as it is for all living beings there are journeys we all must take ... some longer than others and some more permanent in nature. Would Sureno have gotten the medical care he had with you? I think not ... although I can't say that with 100% certainty. You've been blessed with the gift of having a means to provide a good home, for whatever animals you choose to incorporate into your life. You recognized within a short period of time that Sureno's limitations for what you had planned, would not provide him with the best possible situation. You had enough insight and wisdom to realize, that a square peg cannot fit through a round hole. Despite all you did to make it work, in the end you put Sureno above your desires and made a concerted effort to find a good home and fit for him. I think you made a really good decision. The new owner sounds great and it'll give you a lot relief. Don't feel badly as you you put Sureno above yourself ... and you were responsible in rehoming him to the most suitable place possible. There's a reason for everything and Sureno was better off to be with you initially, from his previous home ... just as he is now better off where he is. He's begun his next chapter in his life and the bonus is, it's Sureno's forever home. You made that possible Matt. I'm so glad you showed the part where Sureno arrived and we could see he is going to be well taken care of. This unselfish thing you did blessed both of them ... what a wonderful way to pay Sureno back, for all the joy and love he provided you ... and a way to reward this man for all the good he is doing.. It appears you're both very caring owners and although he has a slightly different approach, you both are driven with a deep sense of compassion for horses' well-being ... a chosen path. As a subscriber you've also provided me an opportunity to find yet another worthwhile KZbin channel I can watch that teaches healthy and compassionate horsemanship. Again, I really respect your decision, knowing it was going to be hard. But I think, in a way, as one door closes another one opens ... I'm looking forward to seeing how you progress with your newest PRE stallion ... and, of course, Emporio + the rest of the gang at home. God works in mysterious ways.

I know your previous video about finding Sureno a new home had a lot of negative comments. But I think you did a great job finding him a home where he will be appreciated and respected just as much as he would with you. Even horses that aren't ridden require maintenance and it can be pricey depending on the situation. We can't keep every horse that comes into our lives, unfortunately. Situations change and you must do what's best for the horse. I had to re-home mine a few years ago simply because I couldn't afford her upkeep. I wasn't going to let her suffer from my financial woes, so I donated her to a local riding barn where our old trainer works at now. She lives outside with other horses, is ridden a few times a week, and participates in summer horse camps. She looks great and it is way more than I could have given her if I kept her.

I'm an old lady and I'm not a hugger, but but I just wish I could give him the biggest hug ever. And thank you for choosing him. You and Jesse are great dads and give your horses great lives as much a you're able, but Loky has made it his life's work to find what's best for the horses. I was so thilled to hear he's also a hoof specialist. It breaks my heart when I hear metal shoes on pavement. It is definitely emotional when you have to sell a horse or any animal that you invested so much time and love into. But, that is so nice that you spent so much time going through all the applications to make sure that Sureno found the perfect forever home. The natural, barefoot process that you said that Lockie is going to introduce Sureno to sounds very similar to the caring method my family and I use with our horses and the little glimpse of his new home reminds me of my backyard back when my horses and I lived in Nevada. Remember all of the good times you have shared and like Lockie said, this is just the beginning of a new life.

This was tough to watch as we know how much you & Jesse love Sureno. As you said at the end of the video you’ve listened to your horse and done the best by him and that is love in its highest form despite it being bittersweet. He did look happy and content in the arrival footage with Lockie which is lovely. Lockie seemed to be the perfect fit for Sureno. I’m looking forward to see their new chapter together & Sureno back in his home land running free with a herd 🥰

Wow this had to be emotional from the beginning once he had his leg injury. You have a huge heart Matt we can all see that. And deciding to rehome him and the choices you had to choose from was a great option. So glad your heart feels good in your choice that was made. And how lucky it's somewhere you can see him and watch on KZbin. I'm sad but happy as well. Many thanks to you and Jesse giving us viewers the opportunity to see parts of your lives, your loves and your horses. Linda from Phoenix Az. US.

Thanks for the support? I saw hardly anything but backlash on the sales pitch video and here I see someone desperate to repair the damage by very carefully selecting the new owner. And it’s working, too. 🤦🏼♀️😂

God, I don't even know Sureno in person but I cried when he left... that sweet little face through the bars. God bless him and may he have a happy and peaceful life.

Matt, it means a lot that you are always so honest and open with your subscribers, and you always make sure that we see and understand the background of the things that you do. You really did find the perfect home for Sureno, and I am so glad that we can follow through his journey. :) I am sure it was a hard decision to make, and a bittersweet ending but you made the right choice! I hope you can visit Sureno soon! ❤️

What an amazing new home Soreno will have. A perfect owner for his needs. Can’t wait to see him evolve . It’s a humbling experience to let go a horse you love but at the same time knowing that he will be in even better hands. Seems like the beginning of new good horseman relationship between them two. Cheers to both

Good luck to Sureno in his new home & lifestyle. Sounds like a nice choice for you & new owner & Sureno. I like the description that this isn't an ending, but a new beginning. Nice that new owner is allowing ongoing contact for you & for all of us.

Wow...what a wonderful new beginning for Sureno and I am also so excited to learn about Lockie and his training method as I'm always looking for excellent horsemen and women to learn more from. So excited to delve into the content he already has on youtube as well as follow Sureno's new journey as that gets released. I think you made the best decision for Sureno given the circumstances, and while some people will find fault with those who need to re-home or sell a horse, how would anyone ever get a new horse if no one ever sold or re-homed? The important thing for people who need to do this is to do it thoughtfully and intentionally and do their best to ensure whoever the horse goes to has been thoroughly vetted and will give them a great life and then let that person take it from there. It seems Matt has done just that and wonderful to hear he can also visit Sureno when he is in the area!
