Hey! I am an architect in training and am wanting to get better at my construction documents. Generally my firm dimensions from edge to edge of windows instead of to the centerline. We also tag windows with height width and head height. If a plan set came by your desk like that what would your thoughts be? This video is insanely helpful as someone who draws plans, it's nice to see what contractors and build crews need and why. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the video it was extremely informative. Would the architect work with a structural engineer or would we need to hire both? I'm planning to build my own 448 sq ft home addition but I would need the engineers design and callouts for materials etc. I'm pretty handy and can follow a good set of instructions.

So me and my husband have found or ourselves in a situation. The Architect we hired and have paid in full for our home design...Thinking the designs wear done.. These days it's next to impossible to translate an A or B algorithm to make an A vs B decision to the average homo sapien so getting most to read framing notes outside of FB or a texted emoji has got to come close to 2 or 3 roofing nails to the finger level frustration.
