It's not the point of "Scratching your plastics" - but rather when other people or passengers get into your car, they aren't going to care about being careful not scratching up your car doors plastics when they clumsily try to grab the door handle to get out of the car. Hence having non-scratchy materials is prefered to prevent this.

This is just the mild hybrid tech, similar to the one in fronx turbo. If they include this technology in Indian swift, price would go up by 60-80k and at that price people can just get a Baleno instead.

The original Swift was a 3 cylinder, i had one 60 mpg all the time very fun to drive it wouldn't break no matter what, i had over 500 thousand miles on it when i sold it.

I have a Suzuki Swift Sport Turbo and love the way it drives. Keen to test drive GLX HYBRID.I have previously owned Toyota Corolla hybrid then the corolla cross Atmos AWD hybrid. Wasn't in love with Atmos and went on to my current Suzuki. Just looking for better range so I don't have to fill up so often. Travelling to work 150kms each day. 😂

I am curious to know if the A/C is turn on or not to get this fuel economy? After doing some research, I found that the A/C system in this vehicle cannot be powered solely by the battery. Consequently, when the A/C is turned on, the engine will not shut off, even when the car is idling. This means that during the summer months, the fuel consumption is likely to be significantly higher compared to the winter season.

An air conditioning compressor may draw 1kw of power at most. That’s about 300ml of petrol per hour of continuous running. Most cycle for about half the time unless it’s 40 degrees C outside, so minor difference at best

I have a 16 yrs old VW Golf with a 2 liter diesel engine and 320000 kms, regularly serviced and kept in garage. Combined consumption 5 liters. Has heated seats, 320nm of torqe, 8 airbags, a lot of extras Suzuki not even thinking about to offer. I would never buy this Swift to replace my 16 yrs old Golf. Suzuki is sooooo cheap, but I still would buy a used car for this money with much more to offer!

The base model is around $5,000 cheaper than the MG3 hybrid. And it uses less fuel. It's also about $1,000 cheaper than the MG3 non-hybrid.

It melts my brain that the top Swift is 29,500 when you can buy a base model MG4 full EV for 39,990 drive away. Pretty confident in saying that the MG4 would end up being cheaper over a 10 year ownership. Either EV's are really coming down in price or ICE cars are doing a glorious job of climbing in price to meet them. Make of that what you will.

In addition to driver engagement, manual transmissions offer cheaper maintenance, greater durability and the ability to always be in the gear that you want for the conditions ahead. It's the difference between driving a car, and having the car drive you.....

My wife has a 2017 CVT and it zaps around the suburbs like a go cart. I'm comparing it to a Hyundai i30 n line and the swift doesn't feel slow at all . On the freeway etc is a different story , but the swift is a great uber eats machine in town.

So comparing the new Swift GLX to the previous model GLX it loses the turbo and 20kw of power, now has rear drum brakes instead of discs, has a CVT instead of a 6 speed auto and costs about the same. Most new models are an upgrade over the old versions and apart of the interior this feels more like a downgrade.

I own swift. In uk, they are made in Hungary. Trim levels in the colonies must be different. I like manual handbrake coz electronic handbrahe is stupid and rear drum brskes are perfectly acceptable. Car isnt fast but you can steer it like a laser beam and its great in town. Full of tech so you are getting value. Mpg is very good Plus Suzuki are reliable so it does add up

Seems an overall worse car in every respect except maybe fuel economy (if claims are believable). Weaker, less durable engine. Worse styling. Much higher price (than what they've been selling for here). No options without the complexity of a largely pointless hybrid system, more ADAS crap to try to disable. Good to see that Suzuki sticks to the nouveau vomit design principles pioneered by German hermaphrodites on microdosed acid a decade ago. Remember the Mk 1 and 2 Swift? No, probably not because tasteful design was banned in Suzukiland around 2016.
