As an Ex Lancer & Lancrusier 80 owner, I agree with you this time! The Mitsubishi car has simple design & reliable. When I was driving on Fraser Island longtime ago, I had a lot of respect for Pajero. My MY14.5 Lancer ES Sport Auto costed me under 20K. During my 10 year ownership, it has no issues at all.

… Just like Subaru’s “flagship” Outback😂😂😂, they just slapped a flimsy cover over the ignition barrel, it spins freely and can be pulled off with zero effort. Oh, and Subaru couldn’t even be bothered to sew/trim the isofix covers, they literally look like someone cut the top off with scissors.

I hope Mitsubishi brings back the classic Pajero, make it a little bit bigger and luxurious, and have it compete with LC300 and Y63 Patrol. Then this Pajero Sport or another Pajero version to compete with the LC Prado and Patrol/Armada Pro4x.

A seriously objective and realistic review that'll upset a few of the Toyota cultists who are in denial that there are more capable vehicles available. Mitsubishi has done a commendable job in updating and improving the Pajero Sport, its modernised, durable and a serious off-roader, furthermore Mitsubishi won't rip-off the consumer either. We live in an ageist society where people conveniently believe that old equals rubbish, unless you're a Toyota Hilux lover that won't admit their ute is a very old rip-off. Looking forward to your eventual review when the all new generation of Pajero Sport is released sometime in 2025.

I am so glad to cancel my MUX order to get a Pajero Sport. Much nicer car to drive, better tech, and although the cabin space might be tight, it's way more comfortable. The Super Select is unbeatable for a 4x4 under 70k.

Just bought a Paj Sport GSR after cancelling a new Prado order. Couldn't be happier.
@dazl2954Ай бұрын
@tomsheehan589 looks like we avoided expensive mistakes. Lucky I went the PS because the MUX came out with a bump steer issue from factory and it's taken a long time for Isuzu to come to the table, even still then they are making it hard for anyone that bought one, to get a warranty claim passed through and have it fixed. Then there's the issue of poor paint and electrical issues on top which Isuzu is refusing to acknowledge. I test drove the new LC250 Prado Altitude and it has to be one of the worse cars that I have driven. Whilst I did find it comfortable when under way, it felt underpowered and confused when switching from the 48v to ICE and all the 120-150 series owners would be best to keep theirs instead of upgrading. Nothing on the 120 series that I used to have and not even close to the Pajero Sports Exceed. Glad I saved over 10k buying the PS as I know that would have been an expensive mistake. My brother in-law has a MY22 MUX which the lease is running out, he didn't want to keep it and instead going to one of those new Santa Fe's.

had an np pajero drove across aus 4 times, one track the pajero ate up, there was a jeep rolled on its side, bought a my21 pajero sport, rapped in its capabilitys, the 8 speed is un beatable, evan better than the old 5 speed i had, Of course the 4wd system and traction control is excellent, wont mention some other problamatic traction control systems, i like the turbo diesel, heaps better on economy than the ol 3.8 petrol. Also one of the easiest turbos ive worked on, used to own a wrx..... , power app down, i havnt noticed, put a u9 controller on it as one thing i dont like is the fly by wire lag the pajero sport has.

Bought the Pajero smaller cousin, Eclipse Cross and can confirm most comments by the reviewer. Reliable and great on tech. S-AWC doesn't quite equal the Pajero with CDL, however I have never been stuck on any surface you name, except rocky wheel articulation type , which the Eclipse doesn't try to convince you it can. Japan built and with Mitsubishi strong dealer network Australia wide, it was an easy choice for my wife and I. To us in our sixties simplicity is the attraction.

Got the previous generation PB Challenger, I think pretty much the same chassis, platform and engine set up but manual which I love except in peak hour traffic. I've put 180 k on the clock, tens of thousands of those Kms have been off road on old unmaintained logging roads. The SS2 4WD system is as good as everyone says especially on the fly so you don't lose momentum. Had a few issues but never let me down mechanically off road and I've done some off roading in rear diff lock in situations that I didn't think I'd get thru! I got an engine tune which now puts out 500 NM which has transformed it accelerating. It's still noisy and bad round corners, but very uncomplicated with no annoying buzzers. This is essential my old car dressed up look like an SUV when it's really an off roader. Greta review

The Pajero Sport uses a 4N15 2.4L diesel. The Challenger used a 4D56HP 2.5L. Completely different engines that share nothing.

Don’t get “it’s cramped inside”. I’m 6ft, 90kegs and drive it long distance regularly and find it pretty comfortable. Each to there own, had a 2020 Hilux before Paj sport (don’t get out of the Paj with a stiff back). 2015 200lc before that which was sweet but to say there is a huge difference in comfort between the three, clutching straws.

I bought a 2021 Pajero Sport to replace my old Prado (which I'm glad I didn't sell) and while it is good value, that feeling quickly wares off the longer you own it. It's cramped, noisy and does not handle that well. I sold it less than two years later and kept my 2016 Prado Kakadu and even though it's an older car, it is far more refined, spacious and quiet on the road. It is also full time 4wd, has a factory rear diff lock, crawl control and KDSS which makes it handle much better than the Pajero Sport. The Prado just feels like a better built, more substantial vehicle. It isn't more expensive because it's a Toyota, it's just a better vehicle overall. Also, these things depreciate quite rapidly.

I think some people in the comments are forgetting that there are A LOT of Prado fans who do not like change, and who may actually go for one of these over a new Prado simply out of spite, also because the interior kind of reminds me of some of the earlier model last generation Prados. Also, if practicality is what you’re after-some people might prefer the top-spec 7 seater Mitsubishi over the entry level Prado, even if the latter is much larger.

We have had everything from 200 cruiser to Prado to hilux to Fortuner to Pajero, Montero etc. The Pajero/Montero Sport was a bit under powered but a solid 4x4. We thrashed it hard. Lots of high speed miles on it on Philippine freeways. Lots of forest runs. Was covered in dints. We actually still have it in the family, mrs sister dailys it. We actually moved on to an Everest a Raptor and a Patrol. Just quieter and more power. The fords have more modern finishes too. Toyota have priced themselves out of the market really. The new Prado is useless for big families. 150 prado was a nice piece. If they fitted a decent v6 to that shape it would have owned the market. They have plenty available. 6GR comes to mind.
