TO CLARIFY: Hyundai have said that the i30 N hatch will be discontinued (along with Kona N) because of EU regulations making the engine too expensive to redevelop to meet new emissions regulations. With the i30 N probably receiving a new generation this year / next, the i30 N will go (at least, with a petrol engine).

Own a white Drive-N ltd since November 2022 ! My best (with built in chrono tbh) was 5.01sec on dry road sunny day, with ngs activated as soon as 2nd went by. Went on dyno too, made 2 ~303hp completely stock, wonder if it’s just the limited or all i30n ?

You have to ride that clutch on takeoff to minimise wheel spin,dumping the clutch will give high times during launch.

Exactly, you have to engage the plate and let the car roll before launching

Yes agreed with this, this is why pple struggle launching a manual... smooth is fast... it shoukd feel like a wildcat digging it's claws in and pulling as u ride it!😅

Riding the clutch. That's just rough as f--k. Dumping the clutch,is also rough. And very amateur,clutch control is where it's at.

It’s actually crazy how much faster the dct i30n is then the manual. I’ve seen low 5 seconds for the dct. Apart from that this i30n is so gorgeous and all the extra things are so awesome.

Yeah the dual clutch goes off - my best in that was 5.4!

I owned a dct for 6 months, loved it but not as a daily doing 600kms a week. It was quick yes but if I was to buy a fun Sunday car it’d be a manual, even if slower.. fun factor of changing gears takes the cake for me. If you need an auto get a CX5….. like I did for my daily 😂

I own a DCT. To get a good launch, drop the tire pressure. 32-33psi.

Greta review as usual. There are some really nice looking touches on that car. I have a 2022 manual i30N with a base interior. I specced it that way because for a hot hatch, I really want it as basic as possible, the pleasure is all in the driving for me. It shares "daily driver" duties with 4 other cars so spends some of its time on a hoist in my storage garage. Its super low kms so I might hang on to it now they are going to be discontinued. What a shame.

Loved my DCT, unfortunately the joy was short lived as the gearbox had a major failure during an interstate move in October last year (there now is a recall for these boxes in Australia for certain VIN ranges). I still don't have the car back and therefore opted for a buyback under the ACCC. Customer Experience has been some of the worst I have come across unfortunately. I hope my box giving up was a one off, amazing cars, I just can't back the company anymore after the treatment I have received.

what was your experience with hyundai for the gearbox? i had major issues with waiting for my delivery of my i30N and ended up just saying i can't purchase it anymore. was a drama to get deposit back too but eventually got it refunded

@@jeremyd5556 not great mate a lot of stuffing around by customer experience. The dealership itself was fine to deal with. But customer experience absolutely hopeless. No one ever rang me with updates, they always argued and fought against me rather than coming to a resolution. Its one of the reasons i wanted my money back. Just not worth the headaches to deal eith them

I don't understand how people compare this to gti, this car has 50 more hp and more performance focused, gti is way slower and more daily driver focused, the only thing gti has on i30n is awd

Been living with one for 12 months but still can’t launch it… what do we read into that? It must be difficult to launch I guess… 7 seconds to 100 it’s no hot hatch (nice warm hatch….53k is also too much for a warm hatch)

Only 180 in Aust , the hardcore i30n owners upgraded as it may be the last non hybrid turbo set up 126 whit 54 black . I was lucky to secure a dct although i wanted a manual The car on test is actually one of 16 in black in the country. The cars were listed 2500 above rrp of the prem sunroof model and supply and demand saw these going for 75k on the private market

Manual transmission. 🤔 With a double-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), acceleration from 0-50 km/h and 0-100 km/h would be significantly faster!.

it varies a lot with the manual since depends how hard you drop the clutch, also can depend on tyres and if they are warm
