I tested both and bought the hybrid. It’s such a pleasure to drive, you get electric vehicle instant torque and the transition between electric, and petrol engine doing the work is seamless. When I drive our 1.5 vtec CRV now it feels like I have to wait an age for the power to reach the wheels, hybrid is instant! Fuel economy is a serious bonus. Only filled up twice since I bought it and have just clocked it over 3000km and still have juice left in the current tank.

Finally Fiiiiinally someone gave this car a fair and true review ... Thanks ... I never understood the anti-Honda review culture .... I guess fixed priced policy has driven dealers mad or maybe Honda is not good at spending money on bloggers and reviewers .... Thanks for bringing up Kia vs Honda comparison ... Other were talking like Kia now is the new Porsche waiting to be found and recognized by buyers ... I dont know ... I found the interior design of the new ZRV very appealing ... I searched a lot to find a car in this range (43-49) which has a good power and torque and has a reasonable fuel economy ... Its seems that I have finally found one ... thanks again guys

Agreed, i dont know where this came from all the anti-honda (of course now after quite a few years of sales numbers dropping their range is limited). Australia is one of very few places that rates the mazda passenger cars consistently higher than honda ones.

I test drove the ZR-V hybrid and loved it. The hybrid drivetrain was smooth and torquey while being very fuel efficient, the ride and handling balance was impressive, the interior was nicely designed with good quality materials and it had enough space for our family of four. I even like the way it looks, although it is a little bland. But at $55k on the road (fixed price), it is simply too expensive, especially considering it is not even available with a sunroof. We ended up ordering a Hyundai Kona Premium Hybrid which promises to be even more fuel efficient (if not quite as powerful), just as roomy inside and is laden with tech including a sunroof for well under $50k. The materials in the cabin are not quite as plush as the ZR-V and there are some annoying safety features, but on balance it offered better value for our needs.

You must be short. Tall people never want a sunroof because it cuts into headroom

@@skynetcybernetics9058 Nah mate I think you’ll find that most people wouldn’t have a problem with a sunroof. The fact that it’s not even available as an option is disappointing to me, especially since it is available on overseas models.

Hi Boys, awesome review we are seriously considering the vtilx or Vtilx Honda's company car dis you drive both models, if so which seats did you fine comfy there is only 2 of us and a dog but now have to drive elderly parents around and our current HRV EHEV is not too king in space for that very interested in the Tiggo 7 and also the Xtail your thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Such a pleasure to see an SUV that isn't made for people who think of driving as only transport. This is an SUV for people who love driving, unlike the nanny cars from a well-known competitor. I owned a RAV4 AWD hybrid and it was the most boring car I ever drove. The hybrid for me, under 7.5 0-100

Nice video guys ! Don’t really like the engine I think it is a bit underpowered but on the plus size based on your feedback handling is good . I like the Interior (apart from the info screen) & exterior. Space for its size seems ample. Tech works 😅.

I drove the Cross as a rental for 2 months and now own the Z-RV. To me the Cross felt way less substantial and whilst well built and with bulletproof reliability, nowhere near the Z-RV in terms of refinement and overall experience.

Cross's passenger seat adjust is still manual I guess .. and doesn't have a 360 cam .... The interior design is kinda boring like any other toyota ... The look I would say is good and Its very durable though

The Corolla Cross feels cheap inside compared to the new ZRV/CRV which feels almost at a Mazda level of luxury. Toyotas have the blandest boring interiors with the CC taking the cake, however they are extremely reliable.

i wouldn't go near the zr-v with the 1.5 turbo four. it has been reported for having oil dissolving issues. please, review the hybrid. thanks.

The 1.5 turbo had some oil dilution issues in very cold climates. This has been resolved for years and in 100% no longer an issue. This a well engineered and built car.

I'm in Australia and have a 2020 Civic and the oil level is about 10mm above the full mark and smells strongly of fuel. I don't think they fixed anything

The engine will dilute in all climates. Reports of oil dilution in Saudi Arabia and all parts of the planet and temperatures. Mostly on the previous CRV with 18.5 pounds of boost. My CRV in a temperate climate was diluting between 4% to 9%, depending on my driving type (major problems and damage with anything over 2.5%). Maybe Honda has fixed the 1.5 now.

Honda is very famous for its fantastic engines ... The good thing about Toyota and Honda is that they make mistakes like any other company in THE WORLD .. they just fix those mistakes ... Others charge you and never learn .. they go and make some other shiityy model
