ive totally been doing this wrong for years lol. i use the smaller collet under the cutch/drive too. ive got a old model woith the tiny pen size flex shaft

Never pick it up by the hand piece? So how are you supposed to pick it up? And why does the shaft fly out if you pick it up with the hand piece? Why didn't you explain?

Just don't pick up the handpiece when not attached to the motor. As it has a tendency to slip out. Cheers for watching 👍

I came to make sure I was installing my flexshaft correctly - since after last week I disassmbled my kit to put away and took it out today and reassembled - the motor works, but won't spin (like it's stuck) with the flex shaft in, and the flex shaft doesn't spin. It does when I loosen the black cap, but then it slips off. I can't figure out what's wrong. The only difference is that the driver gets stuck to the gold cable when I unscrew the black cap, instead of staying on the dremel end. Any help appreciated!

Strangely, my "driver cap" will not screw on to the Dremel shaft. I have a Dremel 4000. When I look at the threads, I see the threads in the 4000 are "courser" {aka larger} than the threads on the driver cap. Well, too bad for me. I wasted $35.

I would contact dremel as the dremel flexshaft should fit the dremel 4000.

Hi matt the flexshaft connection to the dremel is getting hot. Is this normal?

Yeah I find with a new Flexshaft it does get hot. the method use (use at own risk) is wipe down the inner flex shaft to take off most of the oil. Do this a couple of times. also dont bend the flexshaft to much. ( I have never added lubricant to the flex shaft my longest lasting one is now 4 years old). Matt

I thought the oil helped the cable to stay cool
