Matt I am dreaming to become a sculptute. More of planning actually. What do you say to a beginer, without the redumentary tools to start doing it?

Watch lots of youtube videos on carving. Also if money is tight look at hand carving that's a lot cheaper than power carving. Check out alec lecasse

Hi Matt, can you tell me where you get the sanding attachment, can't seem to find anything like it,,also is it suitable for dremmel 3000 or are you using dremel 4000?,thanks
@MattCarves4 күн бұрын
That's a 20mm pad on that sander, I bought in New Zealand. However the only one I have found on Amazon is this 1inch one that would work on a dremel 3000 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJy0kIuPeLCNr5osi=rvs8TGGXYso9A3OZ

Definately keep the speed down when using this bit, otherwise I find it an excellent tool.

Looks quite dangerous without a guard probably ok for straight lines or making stop cuts for chisels but don’t think I will get one thanks anyway Matt

Time is indeed money. You spend your time working to get payed so you can exchange it for someone else's time like engineers and specialists with skills you lack. Else we would all be inefficient small scale farmers and jacks of all trades due to forced self sufficiency.

Totally fantastic, I really liked how you showed a picture of each bit with its name, that's a godsend for people trying to learn and find out what tools they need. All carvers and turners and smithies need to do this! Just one thing you forgot to mention, what sort of finish did you use at the end? Linseed?
@MattCarves6 күн бұрын
Cheers for watching. Can't remember what the finish was on that one. Probably beeswax or liberon wax. 👌👍

Our brand new dremel 3000 kit did not come with Collet AND none of the shafts fit thru the hole on the collet nut. What the heck? Guess we are going back to Ace Hdwe. Okay. Collet jammed up into collet nut so with it now loosened shank fits. Glad I took another look at it.

Got it, rings for each 16th of an inch, not how to identify the size of the shaft of the burrs?

Dang, Now I need to get a different collet for the tool

Found Collet, it was jammed up into collet nut so tight no tool shank would fit. Once I got it unjammed all was good. (Wife was “helping”, so that’s my excuse…..)
