Never really been a big fan of Celine's music, but l have become a big fan of Celine the person. I love how kooky and eccentric she is. I watched a doco on her which made me realise that is all genuine, and so is she. She stood at her husband's funeral for four hours after it was over until she had personally acknowledged every single person who attended, including just random members of the public. She's a really beautiful human being. She did a performance in Australia with John Farnham, during her show, as she is a huge fan of his. I'll just say that l now understand how hard it is to sing "You're the Voice". But it was a lovely nod from her to an Aussie Legend. I really have respect for her.

Love Celine’s voice hers and Lara Fabian just hits different their tone is incredible. Celine and Lara actually sang in the same Eurovision competition in 1988 and Celine won it

You mentioned blues listen to a group from Melbourne Australia called “the Tesky brothers” they are are blues band and bring in that 60s, 70s vibe in. Lead singer sounds like Ottis Readings a bit, check out “rain” and “hold on”

Times were really different then. No internet for sure. Music TV, like MTV, made the stars then. Celine was a real good singer of course, absolutely great. But there were others, like Lara Fabian for example, equally good but never really famous. Today, you`re right, there is more opportunity to get known. About this performance - it´s not my favorite among her work. It is a showcase of her ability, all those embellishments and rus, etc.. But is it the best for the song? I don`t know. I occasionally have that issue with her and Carey, that i feel the song in question would have more effect if sung straight and simple. In this case I prefer Elvis`s version. This was a treat, my friend, thanks a lot!

Lara Fabian is GREAT! But his tone is darker. Celine head voice cut through the mix, better for pop and rock and also his melisma is unique.

@@holgervoigt4315 she made it big because not only that she still his the best female singer on this planet 🌎 still to this day but also she’s a very hard worker she’s always singing each year she’s always one of the biggest revenue on tickets sales and finally the biggest difference between Celine and Lara is that Celine has a monstrous powerful voice compared to Lara and has way more skills with riffs and runs that Lara simply cannot do that’s why Celine made it big simple has that 😉🤷‍♂️

@@lenstgelais7376 No need to defend someone who doesn´t need it. I didn`t say anything against Celine - did I? It is all a matter of taste anway. I honestly do not care about who thinks who is the Best. There are so many "Best" if you listen to enough people. I listen to songs and if I like the singer singing a song, then that`s fine. Perhaps I don`t like the same singer when he/she sings another song. So that is my humble opinion. Greetings from Germany.
