same. when I damaged my 6, I was tempted to buy the 9 when it came out a couple months later. but it wasn't a massive improvement so I said I can wait until the 10. massive improvement or not, I do need to upgrade now. my 6 is starting to have issues. I hope it comes in purples.

My current Apple Watch is several years old, but I just don’t see any reason to upgrade. Of course, I would be willing to upgrade in a heartbeat if the blood pressure and the glucose sensor were added. For me, these sensors and the watches ability to monitor health are really the biggest advantage. Aside from these two sensors, I will probably not be upgrading anytime soon.

100 percent agree! The health features are really the only reason I would upgrade. But here’s the thing: there are so many caveats with all the health stuff, so do these apps really even make a difference? How much health data can we really get from a device that’s around your wrist? I’m a type-1 diabetic, and I use an insulin pump. So puncture-less sensors that monitor glucose would be awesome. But these don’t even exist in any way, shape, or form in health care right now-like at all. So it’s highly unlikely that the Apple Watch will be able to employ this feature into their watches anytime soon. Thanks for your comments!!

Only reason I will be upgrading is that Apple works on a 5 year support cycle for their products and my Apple Watch is series 4, which means once the new watch releases, my watch won't be supported by updates anymore. Not the biggest deal, and my watch would probably still work pretty well, but then again, My battery is deteriorating, it feels a bit slugish sometimes, and i'm missing out on a few key feature sthat came out on watches after the series 4!

Me too! I’m a type-1 diabetic. And this feature would be awesome. But right now, the ability to detect blood sugars through the skin isn’t even a thing in healthcare right now. So if Apple ever did this, they would literally be the first company ever to make this a thing! I hope they can do it…but they probably won’t.

What I'd like is a Apple watch with the face the size of the Ultra 49mm, but the same thickness or thinner than the regular Apple watch. So easier to read, but not that huge speed bump on your wrist the Ultra is.

I’ve moved away from the Apple Watch to Garmin. Between the battery life, better looks and the focus on fitness, it’s a tremendous watch. I found I don’t really enjoy having notifications. The only two things I occasionally wish I had was Apple Pay and music controls, but it’s just convenience.

Yeah they skipped the 9 as they did loads of 3Gs, 4s, 5s, 6s models. So to get up to 10 on the 10th year they had to skip the 9 becuase of this.

My garmin watch gets me near a week and a half of battery life, once you realize how annoying it is to constantly charge your watch you’ll never wanna go back, sure the ecosystem and interface lacks compared to apple but for me the battery is a game changer

Thanks for the various insights into possible Apple Watch X designs and innovations. Very interesting! Blood pressure can be estimated using the PPG sensor measurements on the existing Apple Watches. Maybe not absolute measurements but relative measurements should be possible. There are various patented inventions for non-invasive blood glucose measurement. Most of them are not suitable for absolute measurements but if synchronized with a CGM could potentially give accuracy of 5 to 10% which would be accurate enough for most of us.

I’m due for an upgrade, my Watch 5 is down to 77 percent battery health. I thought about replacing the battery but I think I’m just going to wait until I can buy the Watch X, I’m less certain about whether to upgrade from my iPhone 14 Pro. I’m not entirely convinced the 16 Pro is going offer enough of an upgrade to make it worth my while. USB charging doesn’t really make much of a difference to me at this time but having a 5X optical zoom camera would be nice
