+nicole Stypka : They are sculpted from gel (or acrylic!b using a foil nail extension guide. They are not "tips" or full-sized artificial nails. You CAN buy nails like these, however. :-)

Hay-ley Generally acrylics last for between 3-6 weeks, nail art included, before they need to redone (filled, rebalance, however you want to put it) and they don't need to be removed, if removed properly the natural nails should be undamaged, though they can be sensitive for a while. Incorrect removal can cause a lot of damage to the nail plate.

Brooke Katz I'm sure u could use a regular top coat after the Acrylic paint snowflakes. I think for time purposes gel polish/top coat is easier cause it drys faster. As for the icesicles I believe she's using a builder gel. This could prob be done with white Polish. I don't use gel or Acrylic paint, I use all regular Polishs for my designs & Seche Vite fast drying top coat. My clients are still satisfied w/my work. I might invest in the gel fade if I was a licensed professional, but I'm not. Just experiment.
