Wow! Brings back great memories. I got it for Christmas in 1974 or 1975

This remains one of my most most favorite toys from the 70s.

Was able to FINALLY land me a minty version of this still in the box for a crazy good price. Everything except the axe and gun (which I already have). Doesn't look like it was ever played with, so everything on it is just like it was opened and put together Christmas morning. Even the box is great. Graphics are perfect. Its really true. You have to sit on things for a while and be patient, but eventually the good stuff bubbles to the top if you're vigilant and don't fold to the greed of some sellers. Insane what some people ask for on the most generic stuff.

Good to hear you got it . You are correct about what some people ask for items. I went to a toy show recently and as I expected, there were some items with crazy prices

@@georgiahex7387 I don't go to toy shows or flea markets anymore because the secret no one wants to tell the public is the sellers go around to all the tables before the show opens and buy up the great deals. Then they mark them up ten fold and put them out on their tables.
@georgiahex73873 жыл бұрын
I see that as well. Years ago, I set up at a flea market that I visited often. After I set up, I had several other sellers trying to buy my items at giveaway prices. I even had one person offer to buy my entire table for champ change. I was selling excess items at very low prices. Fortunately, I have contacts that I reach out to if I need something or want to pass or trade items off .

I had this in 1974! I was eight years old! I had a Big Jeff, though.

Thanks for replying VIncent. I have Jim, Jeff, Jack and Josh from my childhood. I now have a total of three Jungle trucks. These Big Jim trucks toys where great.

I think I would have loved Big Jim as a kid, but 1972 was the last "GIJoe" Christmas for me, getting the Mobile Support Vehicle. By 1974 I was researching how to get a (real) fixer-upper Corvette! But these look like great sets.

These sets are a blast. I loved them when I was a kid and still do. In case you where not aware, the Big Jim Wolf Pack has a vette

Thanks for the informative video. I just acquired a box of Big Jim stuff and I am trying to figure out which pieces go to which set, so this video was very helpful!

Thanks. I dont do a great job with my videos. I just enjoy posting them and sharing the great toys from my past. I was going through my parts box of Big Jim a couple of months ago and realized that i have most of the accessories for the Big Jim Kung Fu studio and the Sky commander set. I had neither of those sets as a kid but today, I now have one of each. If you have the Black panther (tiger) that was released for one year only and is highly sought after today. It came with the Big Jim Tarzan set. There were two sets. One with the panther and one with the Gorilla. I have the Tarzan set with the Gorilla I got in the 70s. I have another jungle truck that is missing the accessories. I think I may attempt to put it back together. I have three sets now. One from my child hood and two others I assembled. Skelators (HEMAN) purple cat he rode used the same mold from the panther. You remove the purple felt, you will see that the panther is molded in black.

The black wolf pack version? I tried to get one a while back in the box but the guy who had it on display would not sale it. I wanted the white version as well. I believe it was a paramedic truck. I am not sure if it was sold in the states or not

Thnx for displaying your Big Jim gear. The brown jungle version jeep, did it have functioning lights? (or search light? ) I remember something about them. Would be nice if you in future video versions, could setup all trix/gizmos and feat. to show how they work. Thnx.

Thanks for checking this video out. I don't know much about the brown jungle version vehicle. I never had it. I have seen videos of a brown truck fi Big Jim but if I recall, those videos were made outside the US. It seems that the toy line was larger overseas than the US.

My Bad !! It was called the.... BAJA BEAST TRUCK & CAMPER. I've yet to see one on any video.

There are Big Jim commercials from other countries that if you are interested in looking for, may have the truck. The Big Jim line in other countries offered so much more than in the US.

Well, you have an impressive collection regardless. Big Jim was a great toy. brought back a lot of memories. Great to see that you have most of the accessories too. (I agree about the boat being flimsy too).
