Let's hear it for Mike allowing his guests to speak, talk over him on occasion so they can make their point, all while yes and-ing them into an honest light for the conversation to flow and resonate. Two of my fave comedians at once, super fun conversation. Thanks for another one! 💗✨

My only complaint is that he dodged the question "What language do you have sex in?" Mike set him up for a home run, and he ignored it.
@PhilSidotti17 күн бұрын
@@rottensquid I agree… Although I don’t think he ignored or dodge it… his mind works so fast I think he’s just skipped right past it to his next line of thinking. In this fast-paced situation, it’s tough to rein everything in…it’s the kind of question Mike could have followed up to get a response.

I am awe inspired by his talent, It’s crazy! I just recently discovered him and now I can’t get enough:) He’s intelligent, thoughtful, he’s an artist, comedian, has a passion for cooking, speaks 4 languages, sings, and so well spoken. Loved this interview, and as I’m watching it right now he just said the world is not black and white, there’s a big gray area, now I know there was a reason I found him, I have felt the exact same way for all of my life, I’ve always questioned things, and I delve into things deeply because of my curious nature, I’m in love with and so open to seeing new and different sides of things, a black sheep I am not, Inthink it’s so fulfilling to find out there’s so much more to everything then you would have ever imagined and while I’m here I want to soak up all the ways there are to think and feel about new things. There’s never a reason to be so set in one’s way that you shut down or shame anyone that thinks differently. I’ll never understand close minded stringent unyielding human beings , I am Definitely Gray. Anyway Matteo has opened up a whole new world of wonder for me. So glad I stumbled upon this interview 🥰

Oh wow, his comments about art school and critiques; 100% agree. When I deal with artists who freak out with even a little bit of criticism, I know they didn't attend school. Which is great for some but you do develop a body callous when you have to defend your work daily/weekly and it makes you cold, hard and much better ultimately.

I love Mike's questions and how they drew out various parts of Matteo that I'd heard before but the information landed differently and also some things I hadn't heard. I saw Matteo's guest spot on Happily Never After last night and seeing this afterward was shocking--it was a raw honest conversation in very much the same way HNA was but it was so much more humanely revelatory. I agree, Matteo put Liza in your act. I know who she is but not a lot else but every time you do her on "I Never Liked You," I laugh so hard that I can't breathe. I think it's because she is an archetype of the abused diva. If audience members don't know who she is, your command of the character will quickly get them up to speed.

I really hope Matteo has a bit about naming the second family's kids (whichever that one was). What if the second John's Mom didn't want to name him John? Like did the Grandpa have to argue for each name? Just sweating bullets that they'd refuse? Were they all in the same order? Like did it go family 1 kid, family 2 kid etc.. Or did one family have two kids in a row? That's insane.

The time went so fast! Makes no sense, Mateo that you didn't have your 1st special way, way sooner➡sorry you had to wait that long. I just learned of Michael Caine's adage of, "Use the difficulty" in art & in life's difficult situations➡and here you are describing an example of how to apply that 'philosophy,' & how applying it worked to meet your career goals.
